A £1.2 million 12 month contract can't wait for him to get fit player?.

So £100,000 a month plus his wages for one year that's what it would cost the club, got to be wrong i heard it was 2 year with 12 month option i can't believe it is this HT2?.

There's literally no way that this is the deal - straight up.

Some people are way too quick to believe anything negative about the club - which does them down.

The deal will be something like:

1 year (as reported)

But with various clauses and add ons - may grow to 1.2 million.

Initial fee will be low.

Potentially - appearances also linked to auto extension of contract.

It’s essentially a one year loan, but Brighton don’t want him back and we want to proceed cautiously. All makes sense to me, if he performs (and he motivated to do just that) then we can give him a longer contract at Christmas.

Whatever the deal is the finance bods in the club might just know a little about what they're doing? No?

If the club insisted on a one-year, it can only mean they’re worried about his injury-record or that they don’t trust him due to his off-the-pitch antics. In which case, why ****ing bother? All this gushing praise by Rosenior about him being well-liked in the dressing room and wanting him back only to give the lad a one-year contract and he’s not even close to being match-fit. It’s piss-poor.
Done alot of fitness stuff though so more match sharpness than actual fitness.

He’d had a long lay off when he joined us first time around and was firing within 2/3 appearances.

Sorry I just can’t understand the reasoning behind paying a transfer fee for a player and only giving them a one-year contract. If he does very well and scores a decent amount of goals, he’ll have more suitors in the summer and he might not renew his contract and go for free somewhere else next summer. If he flops, we can’t even recoup some of the money we spent on him. It’s a lose-lose situation financially.
Maybe we’ve just taken over the final year of his Brighton contract that only had a year to run, and that was what Connolly and Brighton wanted. It’s in both of their interest to do it that way, and maybe it was it was the only way we could get him.
