So an approximate 16% increase in attendance (& not including match day walk ups or whatevers) for the next season - most businesses and fans would be pleased as a good base to build on going forward, usual woe is us and panties wetting that the sky is falling in and we haven't even started yet...

Hull is not suffering any more than a lot of other places. It is the apathy and not the football being a priority as it is for some in other areas that is the problem.
We were starting from a low base compared to season ticket/memberships compared to other clubs in a similar situation though. With the prices he must have been hoping for better.
They don't track inflation but they do informally track BoE interest rate changes. So there's no fixed mechanism which raises or lowers the proportion of the whole which is diverted into prizes but NS&I are pretty good at responding to changes.
For example, in December 2020 the prize fund rate was 1% which meant each bond had a one in thirty four and a half thousand chance of winning; next month the rate will be 4% which means each bond has a one in twenty two thousand chance of winning.
Now enough of this free financial advice.

Not sure, though I think I remember them saying the exact opposite at one point. His flirtation with the Dutch club does worry me slightly, and has done since he arrived.
I don't think he'll leave us in the **** and I trust him to have our best interests at heart whatever happens, but I can certainly see him getting bored and moving on if things don't work out ad he hoped

Would all those things matter if we were in the prem? Other clubs in areas similar to hull don't seem to have that issue with much higher prices.... I think we all just need to accept we have a low(ish) core fan base and lots of glory hunters who's excuses will suddenly disappear if/when we go up

Yep. The economic argument is relevant to the entire country. There are people up and down England who are skint and having to prioritise where their disposable income goes. Places like Middlesbrough and Sunderland are in the same cost of living crisis as Hull. We just have to accept that there are probably only about 10,000-12,000 core supporters of the club and everyone else is a fair-weather fan whose support fluctuates based on results and what league we’re in.
It’s a **** reality that the people of Hull are fairly apathetic when it comes to the city’s football club. It’s why I think people born and raised in Hull but watch Liverpool and Man Utd in local pubs whilst wearing the latest Liverpool/Man Utd shirt are just the worst type of football fan.
