Vinagre would be a decent signing. Presumably a loan?

He played 4 times for Everton last season. Probably won’t make his debut for us until late September/October and when he does he’ll be unfit and off the pace. Then people will say ‘give him time to get fit’ during which time he’ll have numerous niggles and setbacks.

But, y’know, summat about ‘robust players’ and bedding them in during pre-season.

Have we learnt nothing from last season?

I hope not. He came for Sporting from wolves 10 millions for 50% and he is one of the worst defenders i have ever seen.

Can’t say negative **** like that about potential signings around here, mate. You have to have blind faith.

He might not have done it at the top level, but at our level he should be a right signing

He was fairly regular for Wolves a few seasons back when they came up, made 56 appearances for them and played for them in Europe. Very good technically, just injuries that’s the issue. Hopefully behind him.

Hopefully behind him based on what a recommendation from mystic meg? He's injured right now and not expected to be able to play until Sept or Oct (according to posts on here) if we sign someone in that situation the lunatics really have taken over the asylum.

If he's a sicknote I'd rather we didn't bother and moved on to other targets. If all else fails start the season with Fleming or Greaves at LB rather than waste money on someone who's fitness will always be a doubt.

It may well be the injury was made to sound worse than it was to end the agreement. Everton wouldn't have fancied the 17m option to buy and if he wasn't playing when fit earlier in the season he probably didn't want to hang around either.
