Also, we signed players who already had injuries. That kid from Arsenal never played a single game for us. That’s just ****ing ridiculous if you ask me. From the outside looking in, it seems the medical staff aren’t doing due diligence when it comes to assessing player injuries or medicals before they sign.

If the club OKed the signings and ignored the medical staff then they need medical staff they won't ignore. If they didn't ignore the medical staff then it's on them. I don't see a scenario where it doesn't spell bad news for the team.

He's not regarded as first choice, that's why he's been released.

I had a look through the Luton fans comments when his release was announced and there was lots of references to him being a 'leader' and a 'warrior', but very little mention of his ability as a footballer and very little surprise he was going.

Almost certainly a whole host of reasons and things to 'blame'.
Let's hope the mentioned 'root & branch investigation' did take place and some big areas for improvement were identified and progressed because there's no way on earth we can be successful without significant improvement to our recent record in this area!

Don't think you'd have much luck! If you had a physio telling you your hamstring injury was healed and you were good to go play football and you re-injured yourself immediately you might have a better case though! :)

I'm in the process of suing the Mrs,cheeky ****er has just asked me to hang the washing out in her absence...Not only do I run the risk of causing various bodily aches and pains/muscle spasms but I'll also have to dodge the bricks and bottles lobbed at me due to the coronation bunting still decorating the back garden:emoticon-0104-surpr
 
I tore my cartilage when I was 28. Obviously not as bad as DenDen’s knee or ChaCha’s covid but bad enough for him to tell me not to play football again.

“Take up golf & swimming” he said.

Came out of the consultation & told the better half he’d said I can do owt & carry on as normal. Played my last game when I was 52 & took up squash when I was 40. No problem with my knee apart from the odd out & straight back in dislocation.

I do have trouble with my ticker though. Do you think I could sue that doc?

If, in this completely hypothetical scenario, the club is actively ignoring the advice of the medical team, then it's definitely not the fault of said medical team, its the fault of whoever is making the decisions to field players when they're not ready. If that was happening then swapping the medical team won't suddenly make the decision maker(s) start listening to them, regardless of who they are... Unless its that lass who used to work for Chelsea. Anyone would listen to her.

You would assume if they're ignoring them it's because they don't rate their advice. You'd similarly assume if those people then picked new medical staff they'd pick people they value and would rely on.

That makes no sense. If they're not listening to trained professionals now, replacing them wouldn't make any difference at all. And if they don't rate their advice, that's their own problem - especially when, in this scenario, they'll have been right. It's all moot anyways because we've no idea who's been recommending what.

It makes perfect sense. If they've inherited professionals they don't trust and are ignoring, why would they continue to ignore people they choose to bring in? Even if they've hired the current staff but don't trust/rely on them, why wouldn't they replace them with people they do trust?

Again, if that's not what's happening, and they are listening to these professionals, and the players are still breaking down, then it's even more their fault. There's no scenario where the medical staff are blameless and it's daft people are defending them when we've just had one of our worst injury records.
