I really don’t give a **** about what footballers wear or what hairstyles they have. I don’t even mind how they accessorise during matches so long as it doesn’t impact how they play. If they want to wear bright coloured boots, have low socks or socks pulled over the knees, wrist tape, headbands etc. I really don’t give a ****. Tufan can wear short sleeves and gloves all he wants, even if it looks a bit daft. I know some would like to go back to the days of black boots and shirts tucked into shorts but it’s not the military where any form of individual expression is discouraged or forbidden.

Also, have you seen some of the barnets footballers had in the 70s and 80s? Don’t tell me daft haircuts are a new thing by this current generation of footballers.

Look at the cover of Mike Bassett: England Manager, it literally takes the piss out of footballer's haircuts.

Hernandez did a lot of off the ball work once he dropped his daft dreadlocks (and we got relegated) and had pace and strength.

Gedo, although he only really used it once to score a goal, actually had a bit of acceleration and strength.

Fryatt didn't really have pace, but technically he was superb, time after time he would be sent through vs a defence, skin them and score. I don't know how he did it, he never looked very gainly when running, but his goal against Man U when he brushed off Carrick was Premier League quality and I think it was vs Bristol City (or maybe Ipswich) when he got the ball, two defenders between him and the goal, turned both of them inside out and just placed it neatly into the corner. He cost £1m. He wouldn't cost that if he was playing now. I'd go as far to say that after Hernandez, he was the best striker we've had since our first promotion.

Fryatt’s technique is really underrated as far as our previous strikers go. It doesn’t get mentioned enough how good he was on the ball. His ball control and dribbling was Prem quality imo. If he was quicker and didn’t have issues with his Achilles, he would’ve been an established Premier League player.

I’d like to see Rosenior use his Brighton links to try and get Reda Khadra, either on loan or permanently. He’s quick, can play as a winger or a striker and likes to get in behind. He could be a better alternative to both Connolly and Sinik as he could play off Óscar or Tetteh up front or on the wing. He’s also proven at this level and can handle the physicality of English football which is something Sinik struggled with despite his ability.

I remember when he came through at Walsall he was only 17 and the next big thing. Bar a lack of pace sometimes I wonder if Fryatt was a bit laid back?

I saw quite a bit of him at Blackburn last season and whilst he’s decent, I wouldn’t necessarily say he was up to Connolly’s standard, from what I’ve seen of him (not just his few games for us) but of course there are the concerns about potential issues with Connolly.

Shows a complete lack of respect to go to an awards ceremony dressed like that IMO. Like the odd tramp that will turn up to a wedding reception in a tracksuit.

I would have told him to go home and change if I was the manager.
I wouldn't disagree,I agreed at the time that he was scruffy but we are discussing his attributes as a footballer.

Untidy dresser,absolutely...Worth a punt to bring us success, absolutely.

Allahyar didn't play a single game up front all season. I think we need to let go of the idea that he's a striker, Rosenior clearly doesn't see it that way.

In the last decade, we've only really had Frazier Campbell and briefly Shane Long who have played in the way you're describing. They're really not ten a penny.
His best games have been up front for us. Just because he’s not being played there doesn’t mean it’s not his best role and when he played there at the end of last season he ran the channels, in behind and held the ball up very well. Seems to be much better with his back to goal in build up.

Also Eaves ran the channels a lot which is why he was so effective in a 2 over a single striker formation.

He was hot property last summer. Less so now.

I think we're gearing up to be able to play 2 strikers, but also a forward 3 overlapping a single striker.

Maybe a fit frontline of Tetteh, Oscar and Connolly would be sufficient if we have the option of playing Traore and Tufan as 10's behind a single striker if required?

I think Allahyar is capable wide or in the pressing striker role but wonder what Longman's future is. He seems to have stood still since he signed his contract.

Connolly’s on £20k a week?

He is widely reported to be on £25k a week, but he's played 45 PL games as a youngster so that's understandable. I can't really believe we're really doubting him. He's a PL quality player that's gone off track a little bit but he's still young and Rosie clearly knows how to get the best out of him

A premier league quality player would be head and shoulders above our squad. He didn’t look that, he’s a good player at this level no doubt but PL quality? Based on what?

I would also agree with that, I was responding to a comment saying there’s been no reason to suggest he has attitude issues, that to me stood out as a red flag.

What Rosie actually said...

"Aaron's had a setback with his injury, and I haven't made a decision on Aaron for next season. Our injury record isn't good enough and that's not the medical staff's fault," Rosenior told Hull Live.

"We need to recruit players that are robust enough for the Championship and that's top of my list at the moment," added the Tigers head coach.

His injury was weird. He seemed to have recovered, then he was struck with a bout of illness, then his injury flared up after he recovered from being ill and we haven’t seen him since.
