I think last night was probably Pelkas' last chance, he's obviously got some technically ability, but his finishing's fairly terrible and he's not what we need (nor is he worth half what he's allegedly being paid), so I don't think there's much chance of him being around next season.

In recent games I can recollect him missing 5 gilt edge chances to score, 3 one on one's, and he's fluffed the lot.

Allayhar's showing glimpses of what we saw whilst he was here on loan. There's promise. Hopefully he makes RW his own.

Certainly need a GK (Darlow?), LW, CDM and both a LB and (sorry) RB.

I get the talk of us being a top 6 side next season quite funny, and premature. We could have 3 'new' sides relegated to the Championship, in Southampton, Leicester, Everton potentially who will want it to be a 1 season stay. Then you have the sides who have had late runs and failed to get in the play offs - teams who need to be there - Watford, West Brom etc. and then the teams who don't go up this year.

It will be a hugely difficult league again next year. Acun has said we don't have loads of money to spend, so the loan market will be interesting, but that as always normally kicks off late in the Window. We may see some players leave - Greaves, Tufan? So it is a bit of a rebuild again, which can take time to get the style of play implemented and it could be a case of a slow start to the season, then better towards the end of the year, but then it could be too late for the play offs again

Players I’d like to see us sign in the summer.

Goalkeeper - Karl Darlow (permanent)

Centre-half - Jan Paul van Hecke (loan; maybe even a free transfer if he doesn’t sign a new deal at Brighton)

Left-back - Ryan Manning (permanent; free transfer)

Defensive midfielder - Krystian Bielik or Christ Tiéhi (permanent)

Striker - Aaron Connolly or someone else (permanent)

A couple of wingers, maybe. One loan and one permanent. Dunno who though.

I’d take Jonny Howson off Boro.

Heard a rumour we are back in for Scott Twine he has hardly played for Burnley this season and will not feature in the EPL

I can see us being top 6, given better luck with injuries plus just a handful of quality, clever additions. But as you allude to, autos will likely be out of reach if it were those 3 clubs coming down. We need a couple of clubs who become basket cases when they come down, but I don't think that will happen this time.
Not too concerned about the likes of West Brom, Watford, Norwich, etc - think they might now have blown their rebound chances.
Feel we've missed a pretty good opportunity this season (meaning I can see next season being harder).

I would be looking at getting Maatsen and Tella here next season, I doubt they will be interested in going to Burnley to sit bottom of the table and get fisted all season.
