Most do, indeed. So no need to make it even tougher on ourselves by signing them if they already have injuries!

As OLM said, if Vinagre is signing he probably didn't need surgery, but having not played a competitive game in half a season is still cause for concern. And as I'd said earlier, it's not like it was a twisted ankle, an achilles is a pretty serious injury that can linger. Guess we'll see.

I'm sure our astute medical staff are on top of things just as they were when we signed Salah, Ebiowei, Traore etc..

2 youngsters on loan (limited liability) and a player who's worked out if the back end of the season is anything to go by.

You don't get this idea of limited liability do you?

Re Vinagre, maybe you should commission your own medical if you don't think the club can commission an adequate one themselves?

At least then you'll know what you're talking about?

Can someone summarise the window so far please? I have read the last few pages and most of it is bickering (nothing new, I guess). I have seen Delap being mentioned (very exciting!) and Vinagre. What’s the likelihood do we think? Both quality but don’t want to get my hopes up.

1 player: Jimmy bullard.

1 chairman: Paul Duffen

'accidentally' paid double the money that was agreed pre-contract according to himself.

Nowt dodgy about that deal at all was there?

I still wonder who Tom Cairneys 'unofficial agent' was at the time he left.

Actually I don't wonder. But the club got ****ed royally on both deals and i'm still struggling to see the coincidence.

Fatty and Allam pushed Tom Carney annd his sensible haircut out the door.

I’ve slightly lost track amidst all the pointless arguing, but if you are implying Snodgrass was injured when we signed him that’s not right - he was crocked at QPR in the first league match after playing on the preceding Euro games.

He had a pre-existing knee injury which was aggravated in the game against QPR, which he has said himself.

Delap supposedly a done deal to be announced today or imminently.

I genuinely don't understand why people are so convinced that Vinagre will be injured when he signs for us.
Orher than Everton announcing it…
Ruben Vinagre’s Everton career is surely over after it was revealed he is suffering from a long-term achilles injury ahead of the clash with Crystal Palace.
That’s a damning last line isn’t it
That's not an 'Everton announcement', it's a quote from a fan website. The quote from Dyche was:
“He’s got an injury unfortunately that’s going to keep him out for some time. It may need surgery, we’re not sure yet. He’s seeing a specialist but that decision will be made pretty imminently I would think.”

That's it, as far as I could see with a lot of Googling, there's been no other word from Everton about this. So we don't know how long 'some time' was, or if he actually needed any surgery or even if he did how serious that was.

Funny, I thought a discussion thread was about challenging views?

Obviously if snowflakes can't handle. Rationale without resorting to personal, attack then it saysore about them than me.

As I'm sure you'd agree yourself
I think Orange is sleeping it off. Normal service has been resumed.

Of course we do.

Wer all doomed I tell ye. Doomed!

Sure, lots of experienced players carry old injuries that can reoccur. He wasn’t out injured when we signed him, was my point. But if that wasn’t what was being discussed then fine.

Where did I say he was out injured when we signed him? We were discussing people with pre-existing injuries that flared up after we signed them despite them passing a medical. Context because Vinagre with an achilles injury could still be a concern even if he passes the medical.
