Aye they’ll need every penny going down, you get nothing in Ligue 2.

They wanted 60m off Marseille last year which was never happened and he’s been patchy this season so be likely a third of that.

He can definitely play a bit but he’s on and off as hell.

They've wanted 40 for a couple seasons now, but their owner definitely won't budge by what you're suggesting. He quite literally never budges on any valuation and is notoriously the worst to do business with in France.

He's even essentially let players contracts run out because he's stood so firm on valuations
 
Whilst I am not sure on Abline, he is definitely the type of striker we need, modern type who is quick and creative, can score all types of goals. People go on about goalscorer, like a Darren Bent, but youve gotta make one these days, the price of Woltemade and Wissa proves that. They can't just be straight forward strikers like Isidor, its where we fall flat.

TBF I feel openda is pretty one dimensional in a similar way to Isidor, maybe even moreso - don't think someone like that would work for how we play.

Definitely have to make a top striker rather than sign one though like you say.

I assume he’s a rich guy cos he must be bankrolling them given their income.

I think so yeah, from some stuff in France it sounds like he might go from 40m to 30m valuation - will want a bidding war so there will be links to a dozen teams who won't actually want him

The concern with him is it’s all in flashes or patches, he can clearly play a bit.

He isn’t a kid though there’s nothing to suggest he’s going to go another level.

Now I’ve said this he probably go Frankfurt and sell for 100m in 2 years <laugh>

Openda seems a smarter option.

Fatawu I definitely think we go back in for.

I feel like a dick because I keep disagreeing haha, I do think the Bundesliga would suit abline so yeah they could probably scam someone in a few years.

But I don't think openda would suit us at all and the fee would probably be silly for what he actually is - a small striker who essentially wants to run in behind every time and isn't a fantastic finisher all things considered.

I feel like we need to find a bit of a unicorn in that they have to compete physically to hold it up (we will be backs to the wall at times), run in behind as we break quickly, be a threat in the air from crosses and able to create chances for themselves through carrying or movements in the box.

There are probably 7/8 young strikers who could become that but would need some nurturing and development (some less than others). Over to ghisolfi to pick the one who actually ends up being fantastic.

Not at all mate I come on here for opinions.

Why I think an Openda type works is he’s very different to Brobbey, he is quick and can drift.

His finishing is a bit sketchy at times but aren’t most at the minute, it really will take a lot to find a ready made.

There’s some young lads in Germany like Weiper who could maybe be moulded, but I agree we are trying to find a rare gem in a pool of ****.

There’s a world shortage of decent strikers.

Aye he is different but I'm not convinced different would necessarily work, Isidor fits the criteria and can sometimes hold it up when he feels like it - not sure you get the space behind in the premier league for it to fully work, at least you can't be one dimensional in that aspect.

I think brobbey is also pretty limited but at least his attributes suit us and the league - get someone who can hold the ball up but has a bit more to their game and thats what I think would succeed more.

You've got the likes of:
Panichelli - ACL a worry but might make him more attainable.
Ponomarenko - been fantastic in Ukraine and seems a big step up from their recent prospects over there.
Matanovic - think he was talked about on here previously but he's looked really promising for Freiburg.
Rodriguez - One of the most exciting strikers in Spain for elche, can carry the ball shoot from anywhere and tops the stats for aerial wins.
Espi - At levante he's limited technically for me, but would provide a willing runner in the channels and is a genuine threat in the air from crosses, had 4/5 headed shots in their last game alone.
Ferri - much more of a project but his hold up is fantastic, he just needs to start adding goals more consistently.
Asllani - Maybe too optimistic but he's 2 footed, physical and creates chances for others as he can play as a 9 or a second striker.

That's just off the top of my head but there's a few others I've watched this season and really like - can't bring their names to mind. But I think it would be nice to go young and initially provide competition for brobbey but by the end of the season have brobbey coming off the bench rather than the inverse.

Yes he'll have better options who would pay him more money but nobody thought we could sign Le Fee when we were in the Championship. Then when we were linked with Xhaka no one thought he would pick up the phone never mind listen to us. Dembélé knows KLD and I wouldn't be surprised if they talk now and again, so why not? Give him a wage on par or maybe slightly more than Xhaka then the bonuses to include appearances, goals, assists etc to bump his pay up.

It may be pie in the sky but so was Xhaka - can lightning strike twice?

Just seen a post of Facebook where it's Mickey Dan der Ven has confirmed he's leaving Spurs on a free for us!!!!

Someone replied saying it would be a yes lol

Set pieces have been ****e all season! Remember him coming and there was a brief improvement but been ****e for ages!
