I've seen him on tv before if he is who I think he is - I specifically remember him because we just could not get over the sheer size of the man. Imagine Wes Morgan but bigger. But I'm not 100%

Won't happen - Chelsea had a £27M bid rejected so we would need to offer what that Chinese club offered for Slimani.

More likely is Walace Silva - a young Brazilian international DM that is valued around £10M who apparently came for talks in Dec.
 
Another CB we are linked with - Molla Wague a Mali international from Udinese.

On loan but with a 'redemption' clause .. i.e we have an option to buty at the end of the loan. Can't ask for more than that. According to reports he was very impressive for Mali in the ACON.

Wouldn't really want to be selling Leo to Sunderland in our current predicament tbh ... he is very capable and could form a pretty decent partnership with Defoe. Really loved the guy, shame it's ended like this and I do think we should have given him more starts given that we haven't actually been pulling up trees.

That in a nutshell sums up the concerning thing. Off the back of the best season in our history, when we should be able to attract players of calibre and truly strengthening we are scraping around for loans on the final day of the window. I know the January window is difficult and clubs are reluctant to sell and prices get inflated but this one has been particularly frustrating.

He has played more for Mali then his club which is troubling though.

Is more like we get fixated on one player and don't have a plan B - in the summer it was Keane, now it was Acerbi.

Is troubling that we haven't been linked with any RBs though.
 
Palace are after Kara Mbodji and have had a bid higher then ours rejected - Southampton are also interested as it looks like we've beaten them to Molla Wague.
