This might be me adding 2 and 2 and getting 5

But the clubs official twitter account has tweeted about Danny Drinkwater twice now in the last few days

We all know he is available and our need for a type of midfielder like him

Only reason why I wouldnt have him back is he refused to play to force his move to Chelsea

We are being linked with a £20M bid for Youri Tielemans

He is 21 and when he was at Anderlecht he was tipped to be the next big thing but it hasnt quite worked out at Monaco for him
 
We are being linked with Charlie Austin who has been told he can leave Southampton

Player wise I would have him and think he would do well playing with Vardy but injury wise he isnt worth the hassle

If he can't hack it in Ligue 1, how would he fare in the Premier League? Hopefully if we are truly after him, we would loan him first.

Would it help if you consider him as an experienced alternative to Iheanacho? Is what he would be if he comes and might take some pressure off the lad/spur him to up his game.

An outstanding footballer. Would be perfect as he’s creative but likes to play deep - perfect for the 4-2-3-1
 
Reports in France were in talks with Monaco over a swap deal. Youri Tielemans for Adrien Silva

I would be more then happy with that

Its hard at Monaco when they sell everyone to then expect a 20 year old to carry that team. They have sold Mendy, Bakayoko, Bernardo Silva, Mbappe, Lemar and Fabinho. Cant sell them players and not bring anyone in. Tielemans broke through at Anderlecht when he was 16. I was surprised he didnt move to someone bigger then Monaco at the time.

Ive followed his career abit as he is class on football manager and fifa

As for Austin. If the money was sensible then I would have him. Best thing we could do is loan Iheanacho out to either Scotland or the Championship. Bang some goals in and get him back in the summer with some confidence. Im not giving up on the lad, i think he is a talent but his confidence is lower then 0 atm

Completely agree. I stop hope that he’ll turn into a decent player but he needs to go off somewhere and score and play

He helped Belgium to World Cup semis, and is keen on move to Prem. Sale of Iborra, James fitness, and indifferent form of Mendy and Ndidi has led to Leic accelerating plans.

Puel seems to have completely abandoned Silva, swapping him for anyone Puels interested in is a no brainer. Shame that swap deals hardly ever happen.

I doubt we'll buy Tielemans this window, but loan with buyout clause at the end of the season might work.

Only if we have the buyout clause

Say we dont Tielemans does well here and then all of a sudden his price tag goes through the roof and all the big clubs come in for him

Whats the point casting off Silva which loaning him out will do completely aswell unless we have control over Tielemans future
 
Can’t see a point of a swap without a buy option - we need him to improve and I’m willing to give him that time if we have him in the long term.

For me it’s lose-lose. Do bad, and it’s worthless. Do well and with his pedigree he’ll go to someone better/play for Monaco

Apparently been having knee problems - hopefully isn't too bad and this is just Celtic being cheap and not willing to pay for a couple of months out. Would mean that he could feature for us later in the season...

The deal for Tielemans looks like it is a loan with a buy clause of around £20m. Spurs and Newcastle are interested and might hijack the deal but Monaco are really interested in Silva so we might have the edge. Silva going the other way looks to be a loan with a fee as well - looks like the plan is if both players impress then we would just pay whatever the difference is - nothing about what Silva will go for but we would do good to get anywhere near what we got him for.

We are also linked with Jordan Stevens from Leeds - is a 18yo midfielder who just had his debut earlier this year.

Seems to be a lot of talk about loan with no auto buy. Hopefully it’d be with the clause. Then again until we get it over the line with our history it might not happen at all!

Really hope we have an option to buy else its a stupid move. Why put someone in the shop window and gain nothing ourselves
