I do not know about the reliability of his information, but Ed (from Uncle Ron and Ed's Sunday Service) has posted a tweet that Valencia are buying Pussetto from Watford for a reported 8 million Euros. He was correct about Tom Dele-Bashiru's injury before it was announced by the club.

Amazing if true - we'll actually have made a profit from the sale of a player who would have been a risk as a free transfer.

A little reminder that almost all transfers are not paid up front but in instalments.

Never in our history have we sold 3 players costing over £20m in one transfer window.

I think, when you look at the loss of income due to covid and 2 relegations it's good that our finances will be stable.

We will not be spending very much more in this window regardless of sales. We were and always will be a selling club, just like 90% of all clubs. Buy low, sell high where possible.

If we do sell the "three" in this transfer window, it does not leave many sizeable saleable assets for the immediate future. This will if we do not gain promotion sooner than later at a financial disadvantage going forward. Selling over a longer term is definitely more advantageous and better for the balance sheets. If we were to gain promotion in the short term, we would also be so very weak.

Seems Sarr has rejected Villa - failed to agree terms/not turned up for a medical.

We also wanted to bring in 2 of their players in exchange as well.

Newcastle were linked to him earlier in the day!

Hopefully he does want to be here and not just a case of wanting more money elsewhere etc .

Will we still get Archer /Hause?

If Sarr - and Pedro - stays, will we need Archer?

I think negotiations for Hause had started before the possibility of Sarr going to Villa had raised its ugly head, so I (hopefully) doubt that this would affect them - especially as we got Davis on loan as a result of negotiations at the same time.

I don't fancy us being known as Villa B anyway...:)

Ismaila Sarr’s £25m move to [HASHTAG]#avfc[/HASHTAG] set to fall through. Talks over the weekend included Cameron Archer & Kortney Hause joining [HASHTAG]#Watford[/HASHTAG] on loan, but issues emerged with structure of the deal (including Sarr’s personal terms). At this stage, unlikely to be resurrected.

Despite the reports the deal is unlikely to be resurrected, there is still plenty of time for that to happen and other clubs now know what the figure would be to secure his transfer. Unlikely for Sarr therefore to still be a Watford player after the window closes.

With the rumour mill turning wildly over the weekend about Sarr, it does bring to light the problem for the club when they say they wish to be more open with the fans. It was reported that he had travelled with the team, but was not certain to play because of his injury. That could have been true, but fans decided it wasn't, and he would be off. When it became known that he was in talks with Villa, it looked as though the club had been going behind their backs, the opposite of openness. So what could they have said? Talks are underway to clarify his future? An offer has been received from an unnamed club that is being explored? The leaks coming out rather take away the clubs preferred narrative, so maybe they should set the agenda with a prepared statement, not react to twitter and other media outlets.

One positive to come out of all this - it seems that the Kortney Hause loan is going ahead. According to The Athletic, the clubs have agreed the deal, the player has agreed terms - presumably waiting for a medical?

Jamal Lowe from Bournemouth?

Probably depends if Sarr goes.

Doesn’t sound like the most exciting signing but might do a job in the Championship alongside Davis .

Probably a better bet for goals than Bayo or Minaj based on their finishing v Preston !

I wonder who'll be leading the race to sign Bayo and/or Manaj?
