To become a squad player, as he will not be an automatic first choice player at Newcastle for sure.

and this is why they are only offering what they are - they do not see him as integral to their plans...

It is up to Joao if he wants to sit on the bench and play a bit part in ManCity v2.0, or stay here, develop and become an integral part of the team, the 'main man' and more importantly have a platform to launch himself onto bigger things than he might achieve having spent a few seasons at SaudiOil FC

If you were, for example, an electrician, and one "company" offered you x amount and another offered you double.

    Good luck Pedro!

More likely he would achieve less long-term in his career. He will be on a long-term contract and other players will certainly be added in future transfer windows and he would sink down the pecking order further. With us, he could develop further and attract an offer from any club not just in England and earn a contract far greater financially than Newcastle would offer him now at his age. At best he would have to go out on loan to secure first-team football elsewhere.

A couple of weeks rest, full recovery on 2nd September and meanwhile no clubs willing to take a punt on an injured player.

    Job done - he stays.

If that's the Twitter rumour, the same source said earlier that he was in talks with Palace - which appears to have turned out to be not true.

Yes he had moved about 5 times so far this summer !

TBH Thought it was a bit odd in term of timing as both teams have played today and Sarr traveled up with us.

Trouble is until September 1st these stories will come around and if the 2 don't play people will draw their own conclusion.

Must be very frustrating for Edwards as he doesn't know if they are coming or goung.

Watford are reported by Sky Transfer Centre, Birminham Live and various French sources to have accepted a bid from Aston Villa for Sarr (over £25 million plus 15% sell-on fee). That is a good deal because he has only two years remaining on his contract and he has refused a new contract. He also does not fit in with Rob Edwards' preferred formation.

Newcastle are reported by Fabrizio Romano to have made a verbal third and final bid of £25 million (plus £5 million in add-ons) for João Pedro. I shall be surprised if Watford accept the offer, but it may depend on the reaction of the player. Some sources have suggested that Watford are looking for £30 million and others have mentioned £35 million, but I doubt that the club would reveal any figure which is acceptable, Watford do not need the money because they will now have already raised over £80 million in transfer and sell-on fees. Newcastle websites are making a lot of the fact that he missed the game today, but he had a genuine injury. Rob Edwards said that a scan showed that João Pedro has a slight tear of his calf (which has been causing pain) so that he will be out for a short time.

Not sure selling all 3 will go down well .
Certainly needs to be reinvestment in the squad .

Agreed. That is one reason why I think that Watford will be reluctant to sell João Pedro - unless Gino Pozzo is planning to sell the club and wants to clear the external debt so that the club is more attractive to a purchaser.

Some supporters are being somewhat naive when they suggest that Watford can use the money from selling all three players (Dennis, Sarr and João Pedro) to sign all the players which Edwards will need, including a top striker. There are only eleven days left in the transfer window so other clubs will be reluctant to sell because there will be little time to bring in replacements and the fees will be increased when they know that Watford have received such a large amount of money. It is also not the Pozzo way to spend large amounts of money on players while the club is in the Championship.

Not here but seen people expecting us to spend 30-40 million on replacements!

They might be a tad disappointed..
