Here you are Remote. Wrong thread but something to watch.

When the city weren’t playing midweek I used to go to Newport for my football fix.

I can’t believe this was 44 years ago. Cracking game though.

I was there as well Irish. Best atmosphere ever for a game at Somerton. The 2.2 draw in the first leg gave so much confidence for the return.

How we didn't score defeats me.

We were planning our travel to to the away game next round. :emoticon-0106-cryin

County, Spurs, City, Bournemouth, in that order. Talk about covering all bases!?
<laugh>

Recall going to Somerton Park a few times most notably a FA Cup win over West Ham.

Funnily enough went to a Newport v Bournemouth fixture in I think 79 as my mate and I wanted to see Derek Showers and also later on when he was at Portsmouth.

Unhappier visits though to see them play City especially the defeat in 1983.

I went to all those as well. Newport v Bournemouth Boxing Day 1977 was a highlight. 3.2 win for Newport with Brian Clark scoring one of Newport's goals.

Hardly impressive. A no from me.

BFB, the former park runner (78) who identifies as a man is also hardly impressive. His recent subscription to Cardiff’s Twatt Bar, and close relationships with IB and crowd favourite BT causes concerns amongst local citizens of posh Llandaff. A local lurker was once spotted there lurking!

11 days to go to the season start and not the meerest hint of a new senior signing.

I can't believe there will be no new players especially after over £100k knocked off the weekly wage bill from those who have left.

Perhaps BBM will shock us all with a raft of new signings in the near future? Although the way it is going I have a feeling we will see a bunch of new loaners come in later in the window once higher league clubs have sorted out their incomings and decided who they want to send out to enhance their experience.

In saying that we also need some battle hardened pros with knowledge of this division, centre back and midfield in particular, to guide and encourage the youngsters.

What worries me is we have plenty saying this squad shouldn't have been relegated and its a good squad.

It isn't we were the worst side in the Championship with some really bad players and we've lost O Dowda.

We have to hope that our young players are going to improve a weak squad.

There are still 3 or 4 we badly need off the wage bill maybe 5 or 6.

It's a case of holding on until there is a change of ownership.
