I think the Gelhardt move makes some sense for Leeds long-term as well as the player. If he has another stand-out loan spell in the Championship he’ll be worth more than he is now and he’ll probably catch the eye of teams better than he currently is, such as a Premier League side.
Leeds could well be back in the Championship next season and need Gelhardt back themselves.

I wouldn’t be surprised if another loan signing comes from Leeds in Jan or next summer at an extraordinary loan fee, to cover the cost of this one.

Also expect Kamara to go.

Probably on loan too Pompy, can’t see Rangers as they’ve just signed Antman for 6 million who is a good player.

He’s ****ed us about all summer. The club have decided to keep going higher and higher with the contract offer and I think it’s a huge mistake. The club should’ve moved on weeks ago instead of pandering to him and his agent. I understand players and agents look out for their own interests and try to get the best deal but I think we’ve had our pants pulled down here. I don’t like it, especially after everything that has gone on this summer.

Has he fucjed us about though or has our “business style” been a factor too?

Is Gelhardt instead of Mcburnie? Seems a bit of a coincidence that a deadline is announced for Sunday for Mcburnie to sign but nothing, and on Monday Gelhardt news breaks. Maybe Gelhardt was always an option if Mcburnie didn’t happen?

They'll almost certainly be back down along with the other 2 that went up with them...Competing up there is fast becoming an impossibility.

As an aside,I'd welcome Gelhardt back for the season,I was disappointed to see him going back the last one.For a loanee,he put some of our permanents to shame with his attitude, drive and energy.

Good player, look forward to seeing him.

interested to see what happens with Brentford and Bournemouth this season, both losing a few players, Brentford manager too.....for the good of football one of the promoted teams needs to stay up

to be fair....I'd said the same about Brighton a couple of times when potter then DZ left along with a few players! Odds stacked against the 3 promoted teams but I have been pondering a flutter on that same bet

I think the problem the 3 promoted sides have is that the 17 PL sides have all been there for multiple seasons each now - due to the fact the last 6 promoted sides have all been relegated straight away.

Of the 17 there’s no one that managed to just scrape by and haven’t really built (a la us in 2009). The 3 promoted teams are really up against it.

Why on earth would we loan Kamara to Portsmouth?

He's our first choice right winger.
Bang on. He gets a lot of stick on here and I do understand why. He's very laid back and that seems to wind some fans up a bit. But he also contributes quite a bit and will improve by playing alongside the players we have signed. I have my fingers crossed that he stays. That way Belloumi and Millar can be eased in. Can't wait to get this season going
