He'll be 32 by the end of it and we'd know a lot more whether committing is worth it.

They don’t, we can have as many as we want, but still only five in a match day squad.

Also with Lundstram, he was at Sheffield United with Slater, so that should help with the settling in.
 
He’s effectively been dropped as he hasn’t played a football match since December 2023.

He was out of contract at the end be of the 23/24 season and missed all of last season because no one wanted to touch him due to his legal problems.

It’s obvious there are big question marks over his behaviour and attitude, but he was once considered the future left-back of Man Utd, so if he didn’t come with a lot of baggage we wouldn’t even be in with a shout of signing him.

The club are clearly exploring whether the trade-off is worth it. They might yet decide it isn’t.
