I have to say, I'm very happy with the transfer window. I think we've given ourselves the best possible opportunity to stay up.
Agree with Tom, some very exciting signings, securing Downes,Fraser and THB from last year, getting players with useful premier league experience, keeping hold of players like KWP, of course getting Ramsdale and can't wait to see how Fernandes gets on. The 2 loan players look great acquisitions and throw in the great puns, it has been a very good window

Ramsdale is an incredible signing and one that's got me quite excited but if I take a step back and try to look at things objectively I'm not convinced we've got enough goals in us to stay up, although a few clubs could say the same. And at the other end of the pitch, while Ramsdale is an exciting recruit, he'll be playing behind what's largely the same defence that conceded 60+ goals in the Championship.

I'm not going to complain though. The signings may not all work but they make sense, there's a good mix of youth and experience and I don't think we can expect much better at a time when our recruitment is clearly still hampered by PSR and the continued presence of deadwood like Onuachu, Sulemana, ABK etc

Squad looks in good shape. I still don't think it has quite enough quality to stay up but the way we have done things means we will be in great shape next season, whatever league we are in.

I am slightly concerned about wages as I was expecting ABK, Sulemana, Onuachu, and Edozie to leave. They won't feature much but will cost millions in wages which could harm us next season. Hopefully Onuachu goes to Turkey but not sure on the others.

Transfer window is still open in countries,
Belguim, Netherlands, Turkey and Portugal, Saudi etc, so still chances that players will move on either permanently or on loan.

I don’t think ABK and Edozie earn as much as you might assume. Things I have found suggest neither get “millions” from us. And if staying ABK might be reintegrated to help get him a move. Difficult to see edozke getting minutes but you could say the same about Manning and Larios and they are both here as well

Onuachu will surely leave one way of another. The wage sink will be Sulemana and to a lesser extent McCarthy likely being on a higher wage than a reserve goalie should. That’s no as bad as it maybe could have been.

Indeed if the figures I can find online are true the next biggest concern would be Aribo being the second highest paid when it really looks like he could quickly lose his first team space. And was probably never really worth quite as high a deal in the first place. The one thing about Aribo is that whilst he can contribute from the start I can’t see a world where he is a game changer option from the bench. Sure - a bench option for if a starter in his position is injured but not someone who comes on at 70 minutes to help us get a result. Which might well be why he keeps his place longer

Had missed Netherlands when I was looking at this. That is good because some of those moves might be a bit more appealing that Belgium or Turkey

Ajax just loaned out a left winger - and ex Man City one who we were linked with and underwhelmed for them. Don’t suppose we could give them a second try? And ABK went on loan to that league. We might have soured relationships with feyenoord though even though a medical is a legit way to pull a plug on a deal unlike whatever Rangers seemed to do last night

You'd think Edozie and ABK will be on at least 50k/week combined, so that alone is £2.6m. Then Sulemana probably not far off that figure on his own.

As Brixham Saint says, lets hope for some movement to the leagues with windows still open.

I think it’s been a great window. If you look at the upgrades compared to last years squad,

Ramsdale = Bazunu
Suguwara = Manning (as KWP slots into LB)
Lesley = Charles
Cornet = Brooks (& Upgrade on Edozie & Sully)
Archer = Adams
Fernandez = Charly
Lallana = Rothwell
Then add to that BBD, Taylor, the emergence of Dibling and SAA, & future strength in Wood and Edwards, and surprisingly keeping hold of KWP which is massive. ( Would be great if he now signs a new contract).
We’ve spent over £100 million and given ourselves a great chance off being ultra competitive in this league, but also safeguarding should we get relegated.

Pleasantly surprised with the recruitments, I can't believe we managed to sign Ramsdale; he could be the difference we need.

Who were the outgoings on deadline day? I read a comment that our squad is too big, did we manage to move a few players on?
