Obligation if we stay up would be perfect. If only we didn't give McCarthy a 2 year extension.
We would then be stuck with Lumley and Lis if we don't get anyone else.
We should break down Walls to get him.
Screams of either “panic buy” or journalists putting in two and two together from looking at players who need to go out for loan and then just looking at clubs who might want them
He wouldn’t have signed a one year extension and we were clearly short in the position. Trying to recruit one goalkeeper has been tough. Two would have been a nightmare
We don't need someone as expensive as McCarthy to be our back up, especially when we have Bazunu's wages too.
Should have let him go, get in a 1st choice such as Ramsdale and then have Lumley and Lis.
They would be fine as back up. We would just need to bring in a 1st choice, which is the same situation we are in now.
That seems like it could be a good fit, on paper at least
Unfortunately the plan was to keep him and use the resources elsewhere in the squad. And it got exposed after one game as being the wrong plan. Was too late at that point. Makes sense in a way as significant investment on another keeper whilst an expensive one is injured is not something we can easily afford. It was just naive and seemingly based off of some good performances in the play offs.
And didn’t Lis look like a horror show in pre season as well?
Primarily a right wing option so would be instead of Fellows. But as this stage I would expect us to have many options on the table
