Yeah, I remember dropping Ramsdale being a bit controversial at the time. He certainly wasn't under-performing - he was first choice for Arsenal in 2022/23 when they finished second and I think he was in the team of the year. I'm sure there was talk of him replacing Pickford for England. I think if he joined (big if) it would be our biggest name signing for years.

Oh **** off.

We are really risking losing signings with our turgid 5-3-2. Because any winger is going to look at how we play and assume they will get fewer opportunities. Including someone like Fellows who would clearly be a reserve behind Hutchinson and Clarke

I reckon Fellows is better than Hutchinson.

We're playing 3-5-2 because we don't have the wide options that Russ wants to play 4-3-3 again yet, IMO

Maybe - and hopefully potential targets can be convinced of that. Although we switched to a back 3 for the harder, more important games at the back end of last season. Hopefully you are right

I think the 352 has its place. In games where the best we can realistically hope for is a point (man city, arsenal etc) then we may as well use it. It will keep things tight and we might sneak a draw. Newcastle away was a good time to use it for example.

But Forest at home needs to be a game we attack

Ramsdale is ****ing class. Would be a huge coup for us. Amazed anyone could be negative about him.

if we have even a small chance of getting him, we have to go for it

Not negative, he has to be an upgrade obviously, but I have read, read not witnessed, he is not comfortable being 'Outfield Bert' in a football team.

If we can get him, get him. He'll certainly get a lot of practice that's for sure.

But I will say, watch the comments on him later on if he makes a few boo-boos with the ball at his feet or gets beaten near post. He will be the worst goalie in the league in the blink of an eye.

Fair comment. A lot depends on when those things happen and what else he's done. If they happen in his 20th game after a string of Kelvin-Davis-at-Leeds type performances he'll be cut some slack.

You’ve written a whole paragraph which doesn’t really say anything <laugh>

Hes a miles better keeper historically. But if he plays badly and shows that he’s a worse keeper, people will say he’s a worse keeper? Sure.

That seems quite obvious and is how reviews work. If someone plays well they are called ‘good’. If they play crap over a long time frame they are called ‘crap’. <laugh>

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

We need a striker, an attacking midfielder and an effective goalkeeper.

If we don't get them we are sunk before we leave the dock.
Ah yes. Because desperate panic buys worked out so well last time and are not at all the reason our finances are constrained in this window. Not at all

Well I would argue that I'm saying there is a lot of clamouring for him to be here and play for us and our fickle 'online fans' will turn on him in the blink of an eye. It would be interesting to see how many who at the moment are saying he is fantastic and we must have him turn into 'he's a crap waste of money get rid of' if he takes a while to bed in.

My belief is for a lot it'll be two games, not a long time frame.

Also it was just my thoughts that's all.
