Tbf, he's spent his entire career just south/south-west of London so maybe he really didn't want to uproot the family for a couple of twilight years.

We'll find out soon I guess. If he's staying as the #2 I'm fine, if he's the starter then I'm worried.

Probably could have managed Arsenal from where he is though. Not sure where there training ground is. Probably only an hour for him unless bad traffic

I expect he’s signed as first choice in that case

I am okay with this.He was a very good keeper at the start with us, showed good skills again at the end of last season. At least we know what we are getting, without spanking a load of money on potential, ala Gunn and dare I say it Bazunu

Yes, we know we are getting a GK who isn’t good enough to be the no.1 for a PL club anymore. Come on Saints, we’ve learnt this lesson to our demise. GK is such an important position. McCarthy is fine for a bottom half team as second choice. But we need better if we are to survive.
