If we dont go up, I think he would be worth retaining. I was never convinced in him as a signing for the PL, but his record is certainly good enough to give him a go at this level.

He’s the least Russell Martin player I can think of, behind Carlton Palmer though.
It’s no coincidence that the worst managers we’ve ever had have made the worst striker signings we’ve ever had and vice versa.

Harsh but true. Do managers actually sign players any more? I thought it was a committee looking at stats and stuff.
The question of the summer will be, if RM couldn’t win promotion with this squad, is there any chance of him doing it next year minus the very best players?

If this lot can’t keep clean sheets or win enough games who will it take because Rodri and Foden aren’t out there waiting for us to spot them.
Aside from Adams not being very good at scoring goals every position on the pitch will be the same or weaker next year and there will be a lot of churn and rebuilding required.
