It really does make me feel old when I see players that I've watched for their whole career .... retire

What makes me feel old is realising that many of the players I watch are born after 2000.

THE EFL have confirmed the summer transfer window for Championship, League One and League Two clubs will open on Friday, June 14 this year.
Should Saints remain a Championship side next season, they will be permitted to conduct their summer transfer business during an 11-week period between mid-June and the end of August.

Let him bag a hat trick Friday and the winner on the 26th and he can go with open arms.

His inability to score regularly (and miss sitters) in the premier league is one of the reasons we went down. He was never going to stay if we don’t get promoted and if we go up we need to upgrade anyway. He’d be a good back up but he won’t stay with us in that role

Fine. Decent keeper but signing him would only make sense for us if we remain in the Championship.

Totally agree. Also a good shot stopper but borderline useless with the ball. (debate yourself on whether that should matter so much!)

We would definitely need to aim higher if we go up.

Best keeper we faced all season.. I would pull the trigger and get him.

English goalkeeper Alex McCarthy, 34, has had his contract discussions put on hold by Southampton amid reported interest from Celtic.(Football Scotland)

Unless we get a significant upgrade on Baz I think we should keep hold of him.

Baffling that there are contract discussions at all. Unless it’s standard practice for all players with expiring contracts

McCarthy is a good keeper to have in the squad, just not for the 60k a week he's on. 20-25k is more like it.

I’d be surprised if he agrees to a 66% reduction in his bosman year. Whether he can get more anywhere other than Saudi is a different question. If we get promoted I really don’t think he would accept that as it isn’t a “PL wage”. Who really knows though.

Yeah not saying he would. Just saying we shouldn't be paying more than that. If he can get it elsewhere, then fair play.
