You’d probably struggle to buy better for £6m unless you get lucky unearthing a gem. It is getting a bit ridiculous the amount of ex players we are being linked to though.

"Linked to" I think being the key point. I'd be amazed if we got more than one more ex love.

I disagree because I don't think anyone has any idea how good Ings actually is anymore. He barely played last season, with just 3 starts and 17 subs he scored just 1 goal all season. His goals since leaving Saints have been:
23/24: 1
22/23: 8
21/22: 7

I don't see how he is suddenly going to improve on the record considering he hasn't played much for a season. Pointless signing IMO.

I'm not saying that Ings is the answer, but not being favoured at a club doesn't suddenly mean a player isn't any good any more. Various factors are at play ... other, better players available, style of play, moving mid-season etc. I remember there being a few concerns when we signed him from Liverpool - he'd only scored 5 goals in the PL over two seasons and had had a big injury injury. Another player has a worse recent record to Danny Ings and I bet we'd all leap on him if it was possible ...

23/24: 1
22/23: 6
21/22: 1

Antony Martial

Martial is 28 so coming into his prime, plus his injury record isnt quite as bad as Ings.

And tbf for his wages i wouldnt want to go anywhere near Martial either!
