Tierney got just north of £100k on his second Arsenal contract. ESR is probably just shy of that number really but they gave him a big deal to renew at the time and I’m pretty sure it has a lot of performance bonuses. And then yeah, PEH is the third. Although he may be slightly short. You’re right that they won’t get deals like that again elsewhere though. Players like PEH were on £70k at Saints (Forster was top earner on £80k until JWP got the £100k contract, originally planned for Ings) so I find it hard to believe he’d be far short of £100k after moving on. And if ESR were on £40k, then he’d be on less than players like Ché Adams were when Saints were last in the PL.
I know that when he was playing for Lille he used to just take the Eurostar to go back and forth between England and France, so he didn’t have to uproot his kids or his wife (she’s English).
Supposedly already bought a new home in the Fulham area... seen it mentioned in a few different places now.
Would’ve thought that if we could we would’ve heard more about it by now. If FM is like real life, today is the first day that English clubs can talk to other players at English clubs who are out of contract on the 30th of June, so should hear more about any incomings and our out of contract players
My assumption with both him and Adams was we convinced them to stay for one season in the champ to help get us up, and them getting a more lucrative contract as a free agent. Whether either of them have enjoyed this season enough to sign a new deal (in Armstrongs case probably his last “big” deal) remains to be seen
Also being linked with Kenan Piric, 29 year old keeper who is out of contract after leaving AEK Larnaca.
Saw something the other day where they were saying that Allegri didn’t want Alcaraz but the board went over his head and brought him in, and Alcaraz barely played. Their board keen to keep him for another year on loan under a new manager to see how he does. Can’t see us doing that unless they pay a big loan fee and can’t see them wanting to do that either
It doesn't make any sense from our end either to loan him out. He's on a long contract here and we don't want him spending 18 months of it at another club. We either need to sell him this summer while his value is high or keep him and play him. Hopefully the latter.
Only way it makes sense is if Martin doesn’t want him and we can get someone he does want on loan from Juve in return. We were linked with Soule before but he’s probably out of reach now after his season at Frosinone
They’ll be plenty of matches where we’ll have to cede majority possession next season and someone quick in transition like Charly makes sense.
