Or Summerville but that would take a couple of good seasons I expect Is Paqueta still subject to a ban? City were linked with him at one point
Maatsen left for £40m, Lewis Hall £30m, Hutchinson £20m. Last season they got £130m+ for Havertz and Mount alone and almost £250m in total revenue. They game the system somewhat in how they do it and they will need results on the pitch very soon but it's not stockpiling for the sake of it and without strategy. That said - their squad is now enormous. There's at least 4 or 5 players there I'd love on loan at least.
Are there restrictions on how many players you can loan out? I think Chelsea want to sell a load of their players but will likely struggle. There could be some great loan opportunities towards the end of the window.
Wouldn't shock me if Broja is one of those who is still sat there late in the window and they end up being forced into a loan or reduced sale
I really don't want Broja particularly, but looking at the insane figures people are going for, he may be the best we can get right now.
Sadly for us, I think everything will happen in a bit of a panic in the last week. We will have a but of a scary time!
I have a feeling that there's a limit of six (excluding U21 players) loans out. However, I'm not sure if that applies just to loans to overseas teams, or also to domestic teams.
Along with rewriting the FFP rules, there's got to be something done about stockpiling. I know active squad sizes are limited to 25 + youngsters, but Chelsea have tonnes of players on senior contracts as a mechanism for diddling the PSR rules
I suppose the maximum of 6 loans is part of the solution. Chelsea may be forced into either selling on the cheap or having unregistered players on full wages.
A very rough count of their squad on Wikipedia and they only would need to be able to register 26 players to have everyone available on there due to the u21 players, and that included players like Lukaku and Gallagher who are likely off. They have managed the situation well
It included like 5 keepers aswell so yeah I don’t think registration is going to be a reason they get rid of players
65mill for Solanke. That's off the back of only one really good season. Wouldn't surprise me if he flopped at Spurs.
TBH I'd be thrilled if I were Bournemouth. Reinvest that wisely and they could have a terrific season.
