No I remember you asking a rhetorical question that suggested if those clubs weren't in for him he mustn't be as good as people thought. It's fine, just own it. Not going to go round in circles on this with you. I've already acknowledged that maybe Howden was taking the mickey out of himself as well as others, and if so fair play to him.

The available numbers are #9, #12, #13, #15, #20, #22 and #30, not including players out on loan and academy players who do actually get assigned first team numbers (Alfie Taylor is now #39 and Jake Leake is #53, for example).

We're still quite short in a number of areas and have players that either aren't up to it or have question marks over them a few positions too.
I really like the recruitment as a whole (it's been too slow) but they've done well and I think we're building a side which should be upper-mid-table, which considering the players are ours (minus Burns) is a major step forward.

This one's been signed on a Longman/ Simons/Furlong/Vaughan/Jagielka style development deal. He's a squad player with potential and time to become much more.
