For Burstow. You never know how much a permanent move for a young lad could allow him to settle and kick on rather than being loaned out every year to a different set up. He looks to have raw ability but needs to be fine tuned and is in the "watkins" mould that Walter apparently wants. Can think of a couple moments early in the game last night where a striker with raw pace would have been useful.

Full Sunderland matches are on Youtube so I watched a bit of their game when they beat Sheff Wed 3 nil. He played a lovely ball for an assist and did really well to win a penalty, he's certainly not useless the way Sunderland fans are describing him.

I do get the feeling he's a player that needs time to settle and feel comfortable as you say, as opposed to Ohio who I always felt was chomping at the bit to come on and prove everyone wrong.

He looks big and strong but strikes me as someone who doesn't quite believe in that yet, although, he was up against the same big CBs we faced last night. I guess Tim feels he's the man to develop him in the right way so fingers crossed.

Here’s a refreshing thought. Why don’t we give all our new players a chance. They might play better if we do. Just a thought.

I know nowt about Burstow and have never seen him play, but to write him off based on the garbled ramblings of a handful of Sunderland fans, bearing in mind some of the insane drivel I've heard from that deluded fan base over the last 30 years, just makes me think that this kid is gonna be an absolute star for us.
