The way this transfer window has gone you can understand some being nervous
It's not so much the way it's gone, it goes like this every year but the communication has been too open/premature. Normally we just wouldn't hear about the u-turns. They're far more common than people realise.
You mean like players just nipping off for a spot of lunch ?
Happens frequently across all clubs bar maybe the one or two at the very top. It's a competitive market. It's inevitable.
Just a story in the paper though isn't it?
They sign when they sign. Not before.
Didn't it come in Bruce's tenure ? And was straight from the horses mouth I believe
The one who went for lunch down the M62 and signed for Blackburn was DJ Campbell. Like I say it's part and parcel of negotiations but you just don't get to find out normally.
That, and more recently Moore and Assante. But there's inevitably been more than that.
Like I say sometimes club sources and media can get ahead of themselves. They're never done until they're done and it's quite common for an agent to use one club as leverage to get more favourable terms elsewhere.
It's why I try not to get too hung up on one specific individual or another and just look at the market we're shopping in as an indicator of what we're trying to do.
