Formal bid will go in once the players been sounded out and indicated they will come etc and have an idea what we'll offer etc

Especially nowadays. Once the bid is in the player has likely already agreed to terms. Meaning Hughes for example probably wants to come it’s just get the finances with Wigan right

There's a world of difference between "Agreed a fee" and "Have signed." Hopefully he wants to come and a "More attractive" move doesn't gazump us on this one.

Just on the last page people were suggesting that these days bids aren't made without broad acceptance of terms with the player, but I do think it's somewhere in the middle and unless another club matches, there's all likliehood he's ours in the next few days.

11 goals last season is nothing amazing, but the right age range for us to be going after.

Agreed. His goals to games ratio at all levels isn't anything special.

And he's not tall enough!

On the plus side he is an actual striker.

And a full Ghanian international.

Albeit one game last month in which he came on in the 89th minute :emoticon-0116-evilg

I think it's underestimated this summer how little money for transfer fees is in the Championship. It usually starts with the parachute clubs and trickles down to the rest but they aren't spending.

It's quite an advantageous market for us. I think this is far more sensible than Moore too

He might not have the best scoring record but he does replace some of the goals we've lost and by most accounts, beyond the goals is a player who's fast, strong, giving everything in every match and it's always good to have someone like that around.

He's more in the Jay Simpson mould, he'll chip in but he presses and has plenty of energy.
