Factor in that the two signings we did have as very close to concluding, one opted to go to Sheffield United and the right back must have popped out for a sandwich.

I dunno
Man C must love us as we’ve helped them get £20m for their player
Villa have seen so much in their player they’ve took him back
Liverpool have seen us put confidence back into one of their players and also pushed on hugely with the development of another

We’ll be fine for loanees when that time comes
I think the jury is clearly very much out on whether we'll be ok for loanees from top clubs. I still have a niggling feeling that the bigger clubs were attracted by loaning players to a club managed by an articulate and well known English coach, with a very good reputation in the game. I hope the pull is Tan Kesler and the club, but have a feeling it might have been the coach.

Is Timmy not well thought of from a coaching perspective? Surely he has his own pull.

He wont have many connections in england

True, but surely clubs will be aware he is well thought of, modern philosophy toward football, unique etc.

If anyone thinks big Liam went and 'had a word' with someone at Man City for Delap...well, you fill in the rest.

Money and guarantee game time are the primary currency.

Do we have money

Sad to say, we are missing the re-assuring style of LR, he would meet with the prospective signings to persuade and reassure them regarding moving to City. Tan, Tim & the Brain Team need to step up and fill this void. I think we will have better luck with signings with knowledge of the German leagues and his style.

No, but if a club has a choice where to send a player and other things are equal they will pick the club that plays in a similar style

As it stands:

Pandur
Coyle Jones McLoughlin Jacob
Seri Slater
Longman Omur Giles
Oscar

Isnt a terrible line up - and if we played that side for all 46 games I’d fancy it to stay up. Our first team feels far from the worst in the Chsmpionship.

But the depth is sorely lacking.

Sorry but that starting XI is a relegation candidate.

Keeper with no champ experience and looked a bit nervy yesterday. Willing to give him chance to bed in mind

Jacob looked poor yesterday as did Macca.

a midfield 3 with an average height of under 6ft and no strength in it.

Giles playing out of position and Oscar has some injury issues.

Theres no spine to this team right now. We have 1 winger on the squad and his best season is 3 goals 2 assists.

Its certainly not top half, but relegation?

All of those players bar Pandur and Jacob have played regularly in a team that have finished 15th or above - some in a team that finished 7th.

It absolutely is a team fighting relegation
