I would agree financial disaster probably overstates it but it's debatable. I'd argue substantially far from perfect and may lead to disaster if we continue along same route and don't get promoted or have more crown jewels to sell off. That A has done a fantastic job fan wise is not debatable. So I don't think it's a reasonable comparison between the two at all tbh

I wasn't debating the legitimacy within each statement in the comparison, it's about how fans relate to them. Nobody loves Acun for any financial mess and nobody criticises for what he's done fan-wise, that's why imo it was a reasonable comparison and solely to highlight this simple point.

Just as the squad we currently have no will be nowhere near the squad we start the season with or have at the end of the window..... But it's not stopping the daily meltdowns

Thats irrelvant

We will make signings but who and when

Atm our squad is what it is

We’ve had better close seasons that’s for sure. Having your manager sacked is one thing but losing the likes of Greavsy,Philogene and then having to sit back and watch Ipswich reap the rewards of their success by signing Delap could be seen as taking the f’kin pizz by some fans. On the plus side we have money to spend. Don’t know how much we have to spend ashore but you’d of thought we can plug a few gaps and patch up the sails. It’ll be interesting to see how long it takes to right the ship and calm down those who tend to fret at times like this under the new manager who you’d of thought has already had somebody whispering in his ear exactly where they would like to see the club come next April.

All hands on deck…

UTT.

I don't think I've seen much meltdown in the last few days and being critical of the ownership isn't a meltdown. I've seen the odd post on social media saying we'll go down, but most have been measured.

2 weeks into pre-season with 1 signing who could be off isn't the best of situations to be in.

I dont think the transfer merry go round kicks off until tomorrow after the Euros are done...

Is it ideal, no.... Would we get everyone in early in a perfect world, yes. But in a whole thr market is slow this summer ( words of agents not mine ) bar the odd team. Id personally rather do it right as opposed to rushing.

It would've just been nice to sign Willock & Chambers, we wanted both in January and both wanted to come by all accounts. They would've been two really solid signings to get the ball roll and ease concerns.

For all those panicking... i've taken the trouble to detail this.

BLACKBURN in 1 out 9
BRISTOL CITY in 2 out 9
BURNLEY in 5 out 6
CARDIFF in 1 out 6 (I know it seems they have 2 in)
COVENTRY in 3 out 7
DERBY in 4 out 10
HULL CITY in 1 out 14
LEEDS in 2 out 16
LUTON in 1 out 9
MIDDLESBRO in 3 out 9
MILLWALL in 0 out 4
NORWICH in 1 out 9
OXFORD in 6 out 9
PLYMOUTH in 2 out 4
PORTSMOUTH in 5 out 12
PRESTON in 2 out 4
QPR in 8 out 11
SHEFF UTD in 1 out 9 (again it doesnt include Moore)
MASSIVE in 6 out 10
STOKE in 3 out 10
SUNDERLAND in 1 out 9
SWANSEA in 0 out 9
WATFORD in 3 out 5
WBA in 1 out 11..

Summary... there are obviously lots of **** recruitment teams in this division, with even ****ter owners...

That list looks to be out of date, I know Swansea have signed at least one and I think Millwall have signed three.

Having tried the other thread in an attempt to declutter this one, it clearly hasn’t worked. But some of the recent posts here are so negative, I feel they are worth replying to - but I’ll do it all in one post and see if others feel the same. This is how my mind is working right now:

I am more excited for a season than ever.

In the interview with Tim Walter, he hints that transfers will happen when they finish in Turkey. He is cool, calm and collected about things, as am I. He is also very positive and attack minded, which is exactly what I would want from a Hull City manager.

As for Acun, the man is still a legend in my opinion. I don’t understand the ill feeling some have towards him. I believe he is a genuine guy who loves this club. I think he will continue to do what he can to help us progress and I feel very grateful that he is here.

Am I delusional? In the minority? Or is there a silent majority who feel like this also?

This is a genuine question, everyone is saying utalising the loan market is wrong (I partly agree, but it does have it's benefits) but can anyone tell me the last season we didn't take on the full allowed 5 or the last season we didn't use it?

I don’t think previously targets are especially relevant anymore. Things have changed.
