You can be top of the league after one game
It means **** all

Yes I agree that would be completely meaningless.

However, IMHO, if you are going to give a manager 100% of the blame for a "collapse" falling from 6th to 7th in the last 13 games. Then they deserve the credit for getting the team to 6th in the first place.

We've all got opinions though.

Without getting too political, the Allams were like an unpopular government that enforced austerity and didn’t shy away about showing their disdain for people. Acun is the charismatic populist who swoops in to cheering crowds promising them everything they desire but is actually an incompetent administrator. Free holidays and cheaper tickets are good for mending a toxic relationship between owner and fans that existed under the Allams but it is not a replacement for a well-run football club and we just aren’t a well-run club at all.

Scary thing is in the article with Baz, Acun reckons we recruit well.

There's a reason Shelbourne and Fortuna Sittard wanted nothing to do with him

It's top 6 that counts and we had momentum, that momentum collapsed in the last 13 games and that was entirely self inflicted by the manager

If anything - the fact that the top 4 last season were SO strong (and would have probably all got promoted in most other seasons) means spending so much money in January was baffling.

Especially if it’s hamstrung us this summer. It’s possible we’d have got promoted last season but unlikely. We had a far better chance this season if we had the right squad - but now it seems that gamble in January was a mistake.

Shelbourne wanted nothing to do with him because he wasn’t guaranteeing Duff’s future who you not long ago said was a ****e gaffer.

And again it’s meaningless
How many other teams were up there at some point in the season?

Yep - agree with that

Every day there’s more worrying or crap news. Even the rumoured signings aren’t anything to get excited about. Squad’s been absolutely gutted. I have little faith or trust in the owner and vice-chairman to get it right.

I feel sorry for Walter and his coaching team because they’re not coming into a well-run club with a solid base to build on. They’re coming into a chaotic situation of rebuilding almost an entire squad in 5 weeks to prepare. If I was him, I wouldn’t have took the job knowing what we know now.

It’s easy in hindsight and ultimately it is the reason Rosie has gone, but Acun out most of our eggs in the basket of trying to get up last season. Again hindsight would tell you it was a strong league and we should have spent differently, maybe building with some younger cheaper players to add to the mix then we’d have something to build on this season. Unfortunately we’ve not a lot to show for quite a big spend. I have no idea what the Giles, Coutinho, Ohio et al loans would have cost.

Something doesn’t quite add up with FFP, unless we are still paying for the Siniks and Tufan windows?

All in all it’s left us in as weaker position as when Acun took over. A Middlesborough mould would have been more pro active maybe and stable?

I bet Rosie has sent acun a “thank you”card, meanwhile Tim’s on the phone with Slutsky

Agree, except for some reason I still have faith that they'll get it right.
Maybe incredibly naive and over-optimistic of me (who would have thought), but still thinking they've learnt massive lessons, that the clear out was needed, and this time they will over time get it right. I guess I'm saying that partly as Acun is ambitious and I do believe that he is genuine and so strongly committed to making a success of us.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing
