You’d think so. Might be why the striker is inbound before the trip to Turkey:emoticon-0105-wink:

I've read the discussion about shopping in different markets based on what we receive but just because we can spend a **** load of money, it doesn't mean we have to spend it all. There's absolutely nothing wrong with leaving some money available for January or even next Summer.

We had the biggest headroom in the league plus the KLP money and we blew it on nothing. If we'd have been sensible and built slower, we'd be miles ahead of where we are right now.

There's also the cost of everything off-field. Whether we get 30 or 40m for the pair shouldn't make a material difference to the players we bring in, because as you say, either that extra should be 'bonus' for January and beyond, or I would say it should be going into the Academy and first team training facilities.

100%. There’s plenty of value in the free agency market, McBurnie was available but Stoke have snapped him up already.

After all this I bet our first signing is a free, someone we could have signed without selling anyone :)

Problem is a lot of those free transfers will be highly coveted, especially the best ones. It’s also essential we do sign a few free agents simply as we need players and can’t afford 10-12 transfer fees.

Could be telling which players are missing from the flight to Turkey this week!

-> Dare I say it, if we've got multiple clubs meeting our valuation surely we can start to spend with confidence.

or maybe just because we're otherwise going on a pre-season training camp without even one striker!

-> "It is expected City will play two showpiece friendlies in Turkey during their 10-day trip"
I dread to think how we'll line up for these two 'showpieces'!!

Any major news yesterday/today? Been many pages since I last looked Friday night.

Not much, other than

It's understood initial figures claiming City would sell the duo for around £30m are also wide of the mark, with sources indicating to Hull Live that any final figure will be significantly higher and include a hefty sell-on clause and represent a significant profit on a player they signed for just under £5m less than a year ago.

The bids that of come in since the Ipswich news was conveniently leaked are higher and much more realistic and all included a double digit sell on. One potentially includes a loan to us of a sweetener, but that's being handled separately and won't influence if the player says no

As I said we played Ipswich like a fiddle. Beautifully done

Bit woolly with the details there, can you expand?
