Tbh I'm not sure Tufan would have fit into Wally's style anyway. Always had a lot of time for him and it's a shame he's gone, but it's not the end of the world

I’m sad Tufan is going. For all the talk of wanting entertaining football - he’s one of the players I’ve most enjoyed watching over the last few years. Seemed like he’s done his fair share behind the scenes too.

Obviously you have to see what happens by the time the season comes around - but the rebuild does seem to keep getting bigger and bigger.

As of now - it’s hard to see that we’ll do enough good stuff to get us back in with a chance of promotion. Not only do we need to get more top first team players in - but the squad needs beefing up for decent depth as well. It’s starting to feel like a 2/3 year job - and that’s if the manager settles…

So players who are good enough to start next season are:

Coyle (needs someone to compete with)
Greaves (99.9% chance he’s going)
A. Jones
McLoughlin (barely good enough to start)
Philogene (90% chance he’s going)
Seri
Slater
Pandur
Ömür

The rest are Ingram, Sinik, Vaughan, Woods, Longman, Simons, Fleming, Lokilo, Furlong, Smith, C. Jones, Jacob and Lo-Tutala. **** me, most of these aren’t even good enough for the bench of a team with aspirations of promotion.

At a minimum, we now need three strikers, a right-winger, right-back, left-back, defensive mid, another box-to-box mid, a replacement for Tufan and probably replacements for Greaves and Philogene. I just think this is a shambolic situation to be in considering Acun has owned the club for more than two years now and the club doesn’t had a solid spine to build on for the upcoming season. New manager, complete overhaul of the squad, new head of recruitment etc.

This doesn’t scream ‘well-run club’ to me.

How much would you actually pay for Tufan if he belonged to another club and had 3/4 years on his contract? Although I like him, personally, I wouldn't sign him at all but if I was attempting to be fair maybe 3.5m? so 2m euros for a player that wants to go, has struggled at times with consistency and is in and out of the team makes sense to me.

It makes no sense, he was one of the few success of the Acun first summer window, he's effectively still got 2 years left, we signed him about a stone overweight from a club he'd fallen out with the hierarchy with. He's had 2 decent seasons, got back to his old self and we're selling him at a substantial loss.

When you've already got a big overhaul, we just keep making it bigger and bigger.

It's more shocking business from the 'brain team'. If Ehab did this, he'd have been crucified.

Let's not forget, Jack Rudoni has just gone for £5m
