Because if you can't take them out of the firing line when needed you do more harm than good. And working with an experienced keeper who's done it in the league day in day out is only going to help them in the longer term.

Of course there's a balance to be struck, but that's down to the coach.

Yes that is why we have the GK coach experience and older head so now we need another GK to give the experience that the coach who should have experience can’t give 3 or 4 players he has to train, so basically we hired a coach who can’t do his job.

TLT hasn't played championship football and isn't credible option yet. Hell be heading out to L1 or 2. Cartwright the same if he wasn't out injured long term. Robson isn't a credible option either. That leaves 2 young keepers with 4 games in English football between them and they clearly want some experience alongside that.

It's not astrophysics.

Robson was released.

We have:

Pandur
Racioppi
<unknown 3rd guy>
TLT
Cartwright
Foster (U21s)
Yam (U21s)
Wilson (U21s)
Howard (U18s)
Hopper (U18s)

Cartwright and TLT need to be playing to get experience, as do Foster and Yam. This third option will be coming into help two foreign born keepers with no experience settle into the English game, perhaps iron out eccentricities and mentor them for the season. It's a really smart move to be fair.

Yeah, meant Foster, not Robson. My bad.

No, we're signing a 3rd goalkeeper because if Pandur gets injured, Racciopi steps in and then we have nobody to step up if we loan out our two younger keepers, which we absolutely will do.

you've not forgotten only 1 plays at a time so if we need to take pandur out we have Racioppi. We dont need to take them both out cos one has a bad game

Can he go? Does Shelbourne count as playing for another club this season? If we get 2 wingers in, I’d be looking at send him to league 1 for the season. He has promise but not sure the end product is there yet. A full season playing at a higher level than LOI will do him good
I’d be happy with him staying as a group of 3 or 4 wingers (not sure of the collective name? ‘A dribble of ?’ ) in the match day squad and rotating. I’m sure that way, he would get plenty of match time. Wingers are generally quite inconsistent, but capable of changing a game so it’s always useful to have options. One of Grant’s rigid strategies was changing 2 wingers after an hour in the league one winning season, but that particular one was reasonably successful.

When did McCann win the championship?
