I for one would welcome a miserable ****er thread. Keeps the other threads tidy but doesnt force people to bite their tongues. And great place to basically have a moan around like minded moaners.

And it'd be the most popular thread on here.
Yeah, it would be a place people could just hang out, you know, with like-minded folk with opposing views.

The link to Meffert is interesting. At the recent Q&A, Acun did say we’d be looking to sign two #6s this window. Zambrano being one but no names for the other one at the time.

If we’re trying to sign Meffert then it must mean Seri is going. They’re very similar players but Meffert is taller and a bit younger but still very experienced. He’s very good on the ball and decent defensively. Not a very aggressive defensive mid but has a good reading of the game with and without the ball.

I do wonder where this leaves both Simons and Zambrano if it happens. It’s good to have depth but Simons has been impressive and I would imagine Zambrano is here to start most games. Simons has occasionally been shifted to one of the #8 positions this pre-season/season. Can Zambrano play a bit more advanced as a #8?

What future does £50k have in all of this.

I agree Simons has been good but I get the feeling this job can be done a lot better and closer to what Tim wants. I wonder if Meffert is as much about helping develop the likes of Simons and Zambrano as it is to offer depth.

The games i watched and highlights he often moved up quite regular i don't think he would have an issue playing more advanced he has very good ball control and vision and good awareness for passing.

As a squad player. He’s consistently dropped 5/10 performances in pre-season and all three competitive games this season and looks completely out of his depth with Walter’s style of play. Chazz sarcastically said he had no idea he was playing until he went off and I echo that sentiment because he’s been anonymous every time he’s played under the new manager and lacks bravery on the ball. He was like it under Rosenior as well but got away with it as his performances blended in with Rosenior’s dull style of play. He has one decent 8/10 performance every 10-15 games and is bang average and goes missing the rest of the time.

Not good enough to be a starter, in my opinion. I had hoped he could do the role Reis did under Walter at HSV i.e. as a positive box-to-box midfielder who can carry the ball forward but he’s just not good enough.
