Tan is the voice fans want to hear. Nothing gets lost in translation and he doesn’t try glam things up. Nice to know Walter values defensive output from his defensive midfielders, something Rosenior really neglected
Listening to tan and how Walter sees him, I really think Oscar could be 12/15 goals again this season, possibly more
The main question mark over Oscar for me is fitness and how that might relate to his streakiness. If he'd stayed fit the first season he'd have scored 15, no doubt. It's interesting what he's saying about the 9 and 6 roles though. It would appear that's the major change in the qualities of player being looked at.
Seems like Walter’s philosophy revolves around working situations to get different types of crosses into the box. Listening to him after the game on Saturday he said the goal came from just one of the crosses they’ve worked on. This should suit Oscar down to the ground and you can see why Moore was a target. I think whoever comes in will be a big ****er
If Oscar was fit for the vast majority of the season then he could quite easily be in the top 3/5 goalscorer in the league
He had a poor pre season and played through an ankle injury for a while then paid the price later. Think he will prove good. He’ll certainly get the supply he needs.
I expect there'll be one in the mold of Moore, and perhaps one who can play more on the shoulder also.
I know people will probably question me saying this for the reasons we see on here daily ATM, but I'm really looking forward to the season
I think it could be pushing 20 if he gets the game time… it’ll be chaos around the box and he thrives on it
It's just he hasn't really played full games in either of his loan spells. Doesn't fill me with hope.
Side note....I really enjoy listening to interviews with Tan, you can tell from the off why he's so well thought of, has a good rep and has been voted onto the EFL board ( which again I'm really happy about )
I've been encouraged that they seem to be clear about what they're looking for and how that might be different based on the new manager. I think it puts to bed the idea that Acun decides the players. The club are clearly taking direction from the coach.
It’s good however that Walter is turning down targets… Also wants a defensive midfielder that can … defend… bonkers really
