Swansea City are closing in on a deal to sign Burnley goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux.

The Swans are eager to add a shot stopper following Carl Rushworth's return to Brighton after the 2023-24 season.

The Championship side appear destined to secure the services of 30-year-old goalkeeper Vigouroux this summer.

Vigouroux joined the Clarets from Leyton Orient during the 2023 summer transfer window, but is yet to feature for the Turf Moor club.

The London-born goalkeeper was a first team regular at Swindon Town during current Swansea boss Luke Williams' time in charge.

Vigouroux started his career with Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur and also had spells with Hyde, Liverpool, Waterford and Everton de Vina del Mar.

He won Leyton Orient's Player of the Year award three seasons running and was included in the EFL League Two Team of the Season during the 2022-23 campaign.
Totally uninspiring. League 2 experience. Don’t get this one at all. How far backwards can we go from Rushworth.

Rushworth was on loan, and no longer available.
Funds are limited, so it's a case of cutting one's cloth, etc.
Williams knows him, and feels he could be the answer.
I would back Williams' judgement against any 606 poster, whose posts are almost all emotion driven.

As are yours <cheers>

The guy hasn’t played a competitive game in over 12 months. Have to wait and see I guess. Just feels
Like the cheapest option we can find. Loved the first two signings. The swans certainly know how to bring you back to earth with a bump.

Well, you could always fund an alternative choice. Your choice, of course.

The season hasn't started yet, and already you are whingeing. Jeez.

So, you don't know what has happened to him ?
You mean the guy who had basically a Premier League squad at his disposal in The Championship, a squad financially underpinned by Parachute Payment Funding, yet scraped through the Play-Offs to gain promotion?

Ask me next year, let’s see if he’s as good as he thinks he is.

Just watched the 'highlights'....ffs we could have been 4 down in the first 2 minutes !
Seriously though they could have scored 5 or 6 in that first half.
Enormous room for improvement - don't let the scoreline hide the fact we deserved a thrashing.
