While Allsop has not been perfect I have yet to see Alnwick have anything more than a satisfactory game.

He seems to lack confidence and that moves into those around him. He is certainly poor on crosses.

Last thing this side needs is a Steve Mcphail type in my opinion.

Someone like Jordan Mutch would be ideal.

Priority no 1 a GK 2 CB.

If we dont sign anyone I reckon Alnwick will start as no.1.

I'd forgotten about Mutch - good shout.

He could carry the ball and run directly at defenders as well as distribute.

Allsop looks confident, standing on the halfway line does not worry him. No goalie is perfect, there are shots we all think could be saved. It is only a matter of opinion but as long as I am happy with Allsop that is all that matters.

I agree. Satisfactory makes him better than Allsopp who lets face it is a really poor shot stopper. Allsopp needs replacing.

New keeper is an absolute priority.

Allsop is the number ! so that is the end of that.

Is he? Alnwick played the 90 v Braga , Allsop gets the 90 v Porto. Id say the spot is very much up from grabs.

My hope is its a battle to see who is retained as no 2.

Allsop no 1 for me out of the 2, but still want to see a bigger (and better) keeper as our no 1.

As for your comment on Mcphail & Mutch they were 2 very different type of midfielders. Both excellent when on form but City possess nobody capable of McPhail’s precision passing or Mutch’s drive.

City have plodders in Wintle Rhinomota & Ralls, Adams who is good at breaking up play but not much else and Sawyers who’s too laid back and ineffective.

The lack of a decent central midfield pairing has been a problem for some seasons now.

The lack of a decent midfield pairing was in my opinion why Jones with such a talented squad failed to get us up.

Too much of a soft touch. Middle of the park totally dominated too often. The Blackpool play off final being an example. Mcphail was an excellent passer with time and space. But he needed that time and space.

On Allsopp he looks big enough to me. I just want a keeper who is at least a good shot stopper. Hes not. At least he wasnt last season. If he is behind the sticks next season I hope he proves me wrong. I dont think he will be though. I think it will be a new keeper or Allnwick.

Everything is under control. It is harsh to judge the new players this early. I am confident we will challenge for promotion. Ramsey in his cameo role showed he still has quality. Tan owns the club and pays all the bills, he has a right to make the final decisions and has sanctioned all the deals so far and should get credit for that.

That just shows the total naivity of your take on how to run a successful football club.
