So, looks like we need at least one (but probably two) new strikers.

Adam Armstrong looks like a competition winner and Mara isn't even trusted enough for a spot on the bench yet.
Agreed on AA but Mara has had what, 45 mins of pre-season? If he had arrived at the start of the window then sure, but barely been here a week yet so might well be fitness related.

Leicester need to shift wages first don't they? Maybe Chelsea were trying to sweeten a deal for Fofana?

Don't think it's a given he'd go to Leicester over us. Likely to get far more game time here.

Plus if he spoke to Leicester “days ago” why would he even bother chatting to us if talks with them went so well

We allegedly want 4 signings before the window closes, he’d be a fantastic start in my view. Then striker, centre back and full back and we will have covered all bases position wise. Will need to shift on a couple aswell

CHO would be a superb signing. I can't see us bringing in a CB without selling one tbh.

Ideally we could do so to bring one in, have another loan as the backup FB option, and then spend on a striker.

Yeah that’s what I’m envisioning, a winger/attacking mid (with at least one of the current lot going), full back on loan, centre back and striker.

If those 4 arrive then we will have addressed all the positions in the squad, admittedly in a Jimmy Saville type way, but no denying the manager would’ve been backed with quantity of players.

Will need an additional striker if Che goes too which is looking increasingly likely.

Where has the number of four come from? And does it factor in outgoings? Because bringing in one striker doesn’t seem enough to me if Che goes. Although bizarrely Ralph doesn’t seem to want to play him so the point might be moot

It's not just Coady who may be transferred this month. Mings has lost the Villa captaincy and didn't start today. Both need regular football to give themselves a chance of making the WC.

For me it was from the reports early in the summer that we wanted 10 signings

Either of those would be a huge, huge upgrade on what we have right now.

There are definitely players out there that would improve us. I think it’s panic stations. This is a relegation team based on the performances from the last half a season.
