Hang on, does this mean the money grabbing, judas could still be "one of our own"?

Easily the best player to pull on our shirt since Rickie left. I'd take him back in a flash if it made financial sense for all concerned. You must log in or register to see media

He wasn't injured much last season much really. It's just Gerrard had him on the bench a lot of the time. He was good for us even in the season after his great one where injuries took their toll. I'd take him back for sure. Don't think it will happen though.I wouldn’t have Ings back. He played very well for us but we have very rose-tinted glasses when it comes to him. He had one great year where he stayed fit, one mediocre one where he didn’t and it’s not like he’s been healthier since moving to Villa. It’s would have to be a cheap deal with low wages and a ton of bonuses related to games and goals. Think he’d have other clubs able to offer more money for lower expectations. Newcastle would actually be great for him. He’d be a good squad addition there and not inflate their spend much.
For me he goes to either Brighton( who are really decent but lack a natural goal scorer or Bournemouth whom he has great respect for and he knows he’s going to be the main man there again.I’m so numb from the end of the season, I still find it hard to envisage us being decent next year. We will have to get it so right, decent loans and canny purchases. I guess we have slightly more cash. I’ll be honest, think I’d take Danny back, seems unlikely though.
It’s an interesting one. We don’t know what went on behind the scenes when he went to Villa. Even if he played 40% of games less than fully fit he has an instinct for getting into positions and he CAN score goals. Think it’d be a good gamble at the right price.Id be surprised but he is still a better striker than what we have and unlikely to be poached again with possibly another 3 or so seasons of PL capability left in him. Id still take him.
No more of 50% of what you paid though, soz Villa.
Except the instalment for other inward signings are likely offset against the presumed receipts of those instalments.Thing about Ings is he is probably free.
The £30 million we got will be installments so if we forego them we have him on a free.
Agreed, but he was sold under Gao so it will be on the balance sheet, but maybe not entirely in the owners plans.Except the instalment for other inward signings are likely offset against the presumed receipts of those instalments.
That’s okay, I am quite negative atm. I can be hard on saints, only because I love them.Sorry but you really are talking bollocks. There are people moaning on there about this sort of stuff, as there is here, but it really isnt representative of the forum as a whole. You trying to get a Mod job here or something
Your comments is a bit like someone from there coming on here, reading Lincoln & Lovelocum’s posts and going back to SWF and slagging Not606 off as being really negative and stuff. (Btw Love & Lincoln, not getting at either of you just making a point - I think you have some valid views which are seen as negative)
People have opinions everywhere on stuff, but dont make **** up for whatever reason. If you dont like the forum, dont go on it. I mean, i get ****ed off on here at times, mainly about one thread, but I dont go on there slagging this place off, as generally this is a really good forum.
The no holds barred stuff was people joking around tongue in cheek.
Btw, im not arsed about a discussion on this with you, just calling out something I see as not totally correct. Enjoy your Saturday![]()
Not that I want to come across as negative, you guys know that’s the last thing I would want. But this talk of Ings returning feels a bit, erm, negative! He was great for us but I would have expected us to have a young understudy coming in by next season as he’s past his peak.
Going from talking about Broja, a young exciting striker who has a high potential to Ings feels like a step down.
Good shout! For me he goes to either Brighton( who are really decent but lack a natural goal scorer or Bournemouth whom he has great respect for and he knows he’s going to be the main man there again.
