Pass. Need a leader back there, not another young CB. Possible replacement for Salisu though when he goes.
Southampton have put two Manchester Cityacademy graduates on their shortlist for this summer - England Under-19 striker Liam Delap, 19, and Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu, 20. (Sun)
Seeing all the recent posts our shortlist is a long one. I haven't seen any rumours about changes in coaching staff or tea ladies.
I had a splendid tea lady but my misses got rid of her because she was suspicious that she was mugging me off .
Frankly, that's all I need - not dramatic changes, a dozen signings and billionaire owners - just something to look forward to, and some hope. (and a team that get's me excited, regardless of the result)
I hope that with whatever striker we buy, whether that be Broja, Delap, or someone else, we vastly improve the attacking set-up around them. Although Broja has been disappointing since February, he was winning us points with his explosiveness and finishing earlier in the season. It’s a lot of responsibility for a 20 year old to carry a premier league attack. Ings was doing the same - it’s not sustainable relying on just the striker to create and score (or the best FK taker in the world).
Very much in agreement with this. Ive felt for a while that our strikers only regularly score if they create the chance themselves. We just don't have enough creativity in the attacking midfield position. We miss that Lallana/Tadic type player so much. No wonder Adams & Armstrong both struggled when stepping up from the Championship.
Would people be concerned if Bazunu was the “first team squad” goalkeeper signing to go along with McCarthy and whoever is third choice? I can’t see why he would sign as number 3 but we need someone who can at least challenge for number 1 on day 1
