I see the rumours get even more ludicrous now....

Apparently we're in the running for Rambo too if he leaves Juve :emoticon-0114-dull:

The way this is going there'll be a shock news article linking us with a move for Zaha again if he leaves Palace and a change in management to a joint team of Jimmy-Floyd and Robbie Fowler!

Messi and Ronaldo too.

Harry Kane as back up. <whistle>

Just reading a report on the lack of signings so far by Reading and 8 other Championship clubs. It listed the signings made by the other 15 clubs.

It appears we have signed James Connolly from Blackburn. Aged 20, ANOTHER defensive midfielder. Contract with Blackburn up tomorrow.

Briefly scanned back on this thread to end of May but didn't spot any reference. Have I/we missed something?

With all these DM's are we going for a 2 6 1 1 formation?

Panic over, found him on City's website. 3 19 year olds signed, Connolly, who is apparently a centre back, Luthra (from Palace, goalie) and Semenyo (right back from Mangotsfield, brother of Wurzels' player).

All to be part of Under 23 squad.

Saw that and thought the same. But Watters £135k. Didn't we pay nearly £1m 6 months ago? There's depreciation and there's rip off!!!

Watters has suffered through the change in manager. No doubt, Harris who bought him would have played him to justify his choice, whereas McCarthy didn't buy him and had no allegiance.

One of McCarthy's criterias seems to be you've played for him before at club or national level (Jonny Williams, Keiffer Moore, James Collins) or knowledge of players through trusted associates like Dave Bowman resulting in the arrival of McGuinness for starters - I just hope Bowman knows of good midfield playmaker out there.

From what he's said so far, youngsters like Colwill, Bagan and Sang will be in the mix, but I expect the bulk of the side to be those he's either had experience of before, or recommended by people in the game whose advice he trusts - just hope it works out.

Glen give it a rest - he’s not coming back. Get over it man
