If he signs the new deal then I think we would see north of £20m, if he doesn't then even though he is worth £20m+ i don't think we would get it.

I'm hoping that they say to Jarrod, 'sign the contract'... theres a buy out clause of X.. if its triggered we wont stand in your way and theres a golden handshake in it for you.. if this rumbles on into summer, either the `Prem teams don't fancy him, or we'll have to sell him on the cheap.
I think this is the window we'll actually get a proper offer for him. But if it is a big club, then a deal to have him back here for the rest of the season on loan would be good business and a no brainer from our point of view.

Let’s be fair to Eaves. He was a decent L1 striker who deserved his crack at a higher level. He just doesn’t convince me that he is a decent forward at Championship level especially in a counter attacking side. He may yet come good and I hope he does but he is no Campbell. In this side we need a clever forward to compliment our attacking widemen. Let’s be honest though when I examined the highlights today he was no where near as crap as Grosiki.
I agree, I think he deserved a shot at the Championship given how well he's done. You look at Bowen and how many goals he's scoring, but he could go up to the Premier League and do bugger all. Vydra is a classic example of somebody who scores for fun in the Championship and then does nothing in the PL.
Our wingers are clearly instructed to cut inside and shoot, it's why they have more goals than anybody else, so it's not really a huge leap to see why he doesn't score many. With a 6ft 5 centre forward, you'd expect more crosses onto his head. I like Eaves and like you say, I hope he comes good because he's a decent footballer who grafts.
Provided a player actually wants to leave those who run the club usually have the final say when it comes to price.. Bowen for me is fast becoming a rare commodity. He is predominantly a winger who has now become a full blown striker..something quite rare these days. He’s also still young enough to learn and could with the right set up and coaching become something very special.

Whilst the wingers are continuously asked to cut in. Eaves or Magennis are continuing to provide a distraction for centre halves, on the off chance we do ever put an accurate cross into the box, I’m sure they’ll welcome the opportunity.
We do put crosses into the box, but they come from the full backs rather than the wide forwards (Grosicki and Bowen aren’t wingers in a traditional sense). Crosses from full backs tend to come from deeper so are harder to score from, but they do create panic in the box and can lead to shooting chances from defensive clearances.
Eaves is clearly capable in the air but his main job is, as you say, occupying centre backs and creating space for others. He did that pretty well in the second half on Sunday.
I thought the whole team did pretty well in the second half. The problem for City is there are two half’s in a game.
There are putting crosses in from deep and there are putting crosses in from deep. Unfortunately, a lot of the crosses that do come in are not good enough for Eaves to take advantage. I'm sure he's desperate to be a success and I hope he makes it. As for Bowen, I feel certain he would improve again with other (rather than better) coaching. Robertson is a perfect example. We all knew he was electric going forward, but caught many times defensively for us. Now, he's talked about as the best left back in world football by being coached differently. You can see a lot of Mahrez in Bowen, perhaps not quite that class, but look at how much he went for.!
Expectations run that little bit higher when you sign for a Championship club. Eaves is obviously playing in a system that doesn’t quite suit him for reasons already discussed and now it’s looking like he is our second choice striker behind Magennis to lead the line up front. Eaves cost next to nothing apparently so not sure what many should expect really. Interesting you mention Robertson because as with big Harry,his true ability where arguably only really exploited after he left the club and even then Robbo was initially a bench warmer whilst absorbing the Liverpool way of playing.
