HULL CITY HAVE SIGNED YOUNG STRIKER JAMES BERRY AFTER REACHING A COMPENSATION AGREEMENT WITH WIGAN ATHLETIC.

The 18-year-old has penned a deal running until the end of the current season, with a further year’s option in the Club’s favour.

Joining Liverpool’s Academy aged seven, Wigan-born Berry spent nine years on the Reds’ books before moving to his hometown club as an apprentice in December 2016.

The forward will link up with the Tigers’ Under-23s as he continues his development under the tutelage of Academy Manager Jon Beale.

“James is a very attack-minded player,” Beale commented. “He brings pace through the middle as a nine, but can also play a bit deeper as a 10.

“He’s got lots of pace and likes to get in behind people. He’s direct and has an eye for goal. We are pleased to have him in the building and we believe he can add something to the group.

“I’m excited about the prospect of working with him and furthering his development. We feel there is progress to be made and we are the right club for him to do that.”

Good, he's played in all the games for St Mirren as far as I am aware and has been getting good reviews.
According to the BBC sport website, he gave away a 'comical' goal on Saturday. A cross hit his head and ricocheted in. There's a clip on the BBC but I can't provide a link. Others are correct that the St. Mirren manager is otherwise pleased with him.

It seems Villa fans have gone into a frenzy that Jarrod has started following them on Instagram. I would have thought that Villa might be a place he would be happy to go to, as his Dad is a Villa fans.

Players follow a few clubs, it’s not an indicator that they’re moving. He can do better than Villa I’d have thought.

Very true, just that Villa fans are debating whether him doing that has some meaning.

I'm not very familiar with Instagram, but I believe it will allow him to access / see photos & stuff posted by the club (Villa) on their Instagram account. Can you please pass that on to them to hopefully help their debate?

You don't actually have to follow them to access/see photos, they're up there for anyone to look at without doing anything.
