Ok then we should have realised he couldn’t play there and not done it, I’d happily put him in that list

He was always more effective as a WB, certainly one of the best crossers I've ever seen at the club, but he was a RB for quite a while in the national team too.

Phil Buckingham's thoughts on the Henriksen situation - 'Well, it’s a saga that gets stranger and stranger. In my mind, City’s only motivation is a financial one. The same as it was when opting to extend his contract by 12 months in March. City do not want to see a £4m signing leave on a free transfer and have acted accordingly. I can’t believe for a second that the club’s board thought Henriksen would accept this latest offer but now they can say they’ve done all they can to keep him. I find it all a very sorry mess. You look back at the pride he had when being named captain in August 2018 and it’s all gone so horribly wrong. Unless there’s a move in January, Henriksen could end up going through a whole season without playing anything but international football. Bizarre'.

Except we’ve lost a few players for no fee due to poor contract management.

Hull City have shown an interest in signing League of Ireland player of the year Jack Byrne, according to reports in Ireland .

The 23-year-old midfielder has shone for Shamrock Rovers in the League of Ireland Premier Division, which has just finished, helping the side to finishing second in the table and being named as the league's player of the year.

The Dublin-born midfielder’s form in 2019 has seen him earn a first selection to the Republic of Ireland squad this year and he’s set to feature again for Mick McCarthy’s side against New Zealand on Thursday evening.

Rovers are eager to keep hold of their prized asset, but City are said to be preparing a bid for the midfielder ahead of the January transfer window opening.

Byrne is not the only Rovers player City have expressed an interest in either, with the Tigers also being linked with Lee Grace.
City are said to be looking to bring Grace to Hull during the international break to take a look at the player on a trial basis.

A 26-year-old defender, Grace played 34 times for Shamrock Rovers this year in the league, as well as four appearances in the Europa League, but unlike Byrne he has no experience of playing outside of Ireland.
