On a positive note, this failed signing proves McCann can sign players he wants and that there's a little money available without having to sell players first.
.

I don't think "Barnsley made me feel wanted" is a standard line trotted out by footballers when joining a club, it's usually more "I knew as soon as Barnsley came in for me, that's where I wanted to be"

Personally I think he's having a dig at Ehab, saying he's wasted his time. So, I wouldn't read into bidding £1.2m on a player as it looks like we never intended to make sure we got it over the line. It was probably a ploy to get McCann (and supporters) on side... It's of the same ilk as "we really tried to get Huddles tone to stay, but he chose to go elsewhere"... Make it look like they "tried", with no ounce of effort being put into it.

Perfectly put.

sounds like he has been given a 4 year contract, and probably better wages, fraid its all about the money these days and with a 4 yr contract he has that little bit of extra security, even though he is a fairly young lad. Think our policy recently has been to offer 2 yr contracts with an option on a third.

Most of the deal's recently have been three years with the option of a fourth, including the only one done so far this season.

This was my thought when the bid was made. The fact that Barnsley beat us to him shows how poor our offer must have been.

We probably only went in for him on a speculative in the belief we could sell for a profit in a year or so. Not that that is a bad thing in normal circumstances.

We probably went in for him knowing that he would never agree to the terms, even thought the fee was agreed... in that way showing the supporters some intent... as someone said earlier... you could have had Frazier for probably 8k a week for two years = 800k

Yeah no resale value though, Enob's all about the flipping I reckon.

Or referring to not being wanted by Leeds and being forced out?

Must say that currently if I see we are one of several championship clubs interested in a player I assume he will go elsewhere but hopefully Grant's powers of persuasion will bring in a few. I'm trying to be optimistic!

Pontus jansen on the verge of being sold wonder who the championship club who have bid is

Fell out with bielsa

Would be a great signing but no chance of it, be derby or someone

He looked a bit of a liability for Leeds at times with a few rash challenges, Leeds paid a decent wedge to Torino for his services and they have truned down bids for him in the past. No way will we be looking at him.
