If that's true then something is seriously wrong with football! He had 1 good season for the worst team in the league. Of course he made a lot of saves, he had so many shots coming at him he was bound to be a bit more practised!

I take your point, but I'm afraid I have to disagree - I think Marshall was absolutely brilliant last season. Without him Cardiff would never have made it to the penultimate match.

That being said, £15m is pretty steep. I'd say somewhere in the region of £8-10m based on Mignolet's price.

It's possible that even if we had a sell-on clause it might have expired by now - it is five years since he left.

Has Dean Cox been mentioned? From Sky, so could be possible, but not guaranteed

We certainly need an AM and he's had a stellar season in League One. Just the sort of player worth taking a punt on.

Carrabuh will be pleased to see he is 1.63 too.

Cardiff have made four very good signings already, (Javi Guerra, Guido Burgstaller, Federico Macheda and now Le Fondre)they will be the team to beat. We need to pull our finger out and get a move on or face being left behind.

Have they signed Le Fondre? He is a good signing at this level, surprised Reading let him go. Not so sure about Macheda though, think he might have been not much more than a flash in the pan.

From speaking to Reading fans, I'm not too surprised he's left. They seemed to think that outside of that purple patch in Feb of their Prem season, he's been pretty dreadful and brings little to the team. Like Rhodes but a poorer finisher too.

macheda played for koo pee argh when we beat them 2-1 at loftus in the lambo season, ok it was a while ago, but he looked pants

Le Fondre has gone to Cardiff - just spoke to a colleague of mine who is a Redbirds fan and they are all enthused by the signings although he says that the club is "burning cash" at the moment.

He did score 15 goals last year, I'd be well chuffed if our second striker returned that many next season

sorry, macheda is absolutely terrible, completely living off that one goal for man utd, although to be fair he actually scored a few goals last season for birmingham. le fondre is bang average but a useful impact sub. neither of these signings particularly strengthen cardiff in my opinion. i think their fans will be disappointed when they see the players perform rather than go solely on reputation.

As above. It seems to me that they are buying available players for the sake of it.

I would rather wait for some decent signings rather than panic and buy crap.

Rather like the mananger situation :emoticon-0108-speec:emoticon-0108-speec

Yes he scored a few goals in the same division as Cardiff and ourselves are now in, in a very poor team. As Cardiff like ourselves struggled to score goals I would say it is an improvement. But only my opinion.

Wouldn't call it panic buying, but there is something about getting your players in early and settling the whole squad down!
