Now tell me who was the last 28 year old 'journeyman' striker to pitch up at Carrow Road ? He did quite a good job for us I seem to recall
I think he's probably a better option than Becchio, who would be the only one I think he could be replacing.
He's much better than Becchio and would be a great signing - as long as we don't sell Hooper as a consequence.
From the Stoke Sentinel: "CAMERON Jerome has been given permission to speak to Norwich after Stoke agreed a £1.5m sale to the Canaries. The deal is now dependent on the 28 year-old striker agreeing personal terms and passing a medical. His transfer would end a troubled three-year stay at Stoke which included a season-long loan spell at Crystal Palace in 2013/15. A fee of £1.5m represents a fair return for a player costing around £4m from Birmingham City three years ago and with only 12 months left on his current contract." Looks good to me.
What an absolute bargain ,a strike force of Lafferty Hooper & Grabban would be very good and they could probably play in the same side .
Sell 2 wingers and buy another striker, makes sense. Someone tell Neil Adams he can buy midfielders and defenders too lol.
Just had a look on the Stoke boards and they seem to think we have got a real bargain with Jerome at £1.5m.
I hope not, I'd imagine the board would cash in on 5-6 million quid offer and people will be acting like it's the sale of the year.
If someone takes Becchio off us for free and Jerome comes in on £10 k p/w lower wages, then over the two years Becchio has left on his contract, we've replaced a completely duff, unwanted player with a slightly younger, potential squad member for £500k. I don't think that's too bad business, or the numbers that unreasonable. Becchio is meant to be on a fair wedge and we're paying championship wages now. We might also get some fee if we do shift Becchio. Agree though that I'd rather see a creative central midfielder and a CB join, hopefully this deal won't jeopardise that.
The burly comment was pretty tongue in cheek. I think it will be Becchio if we find a suitor. Wouldn't surprise me if Becchio and Bassong end up going out on loan.
The Becchio signing has to be the most pointless bit of business ever, even when Hooper or RVW were out injured he didn't get a game.
Not been in the UK for a while, does anyone know how much longer Hooper is meant to be out injured for? Might aid us keeping him if he can't pass a medical before the deadline.
