Why - Superman hasn't changed his monicker and Holty has been gone for over a year (sadly) ......
i strongly disagree with anyone who thinks the board actively sat down and thought 'lets spend as little as possible on a manager'. they didn't do that - they've appointed the man who impressed them and thought was the right man for the job. that i and others totally disagree with that decision doesn't suddenly make him 'cheap'. the whole structure around him will have cost a lot to implement and they've invested heavily on two players he wanted. they've backed their man - there's nothing to say malky mackay, for example, would have wanted to spend more money than adams has or neil lennon (who wasn't even a candidate) would have either. there is a difference in this case between being the cheap option and being the (perceived) wrong choice which is my view. we needed an experienced man or at the very least someone who could kick some arses and stop the general malaise around the place. adams is never going to be that man
Don't even bother trying to rationalise the decision they made, it was an atrocious choice even by their ****ty standards and they knew it wind the fan's up, we desperately needed a strong appointment with a good track record, after relegation you need something to unify the fans especially after the Hughton era.
No he can't be, why would they let him spend money if that was the case?
I don't like the way this is heading but let's give Neil a chance first.
I agree K E M P - trouble is this lunatic transfer has had a MASSIVE negative effect and alienated many fans who might hive been at least willing to give NA a chance.
The board are doing a superb job at uniting the fan's against them, today feels like something from the Roeder era.
I think there has been a large falling out.
Also though even though I like Pilks his injury record is a worry especially in the championship and with the amount of games that we will play. I can't remember many games last season where he made the big difference that people are talking about.
You never know maybe Pilks just had enough and decided he wanted out.

The fee seems low, but I'm not altogether sure he is the player he was or we would like him to be. At the Southampton game last season he was our worst player by a distance. I'm disappointed we didn't manage to get a higher fee, but I'm not too sorry to see him go really.
Agree that he probably won't be a big miss. His positive contribution in the last two seasons has been minimal. Time for Murphy to step up? Cue cries of cheap option and he's not ready. He is 19, and needs game time on the bigger stage. Cesc Fabregas, Wayne Rooney, David Beckham. The list goes on of players given their chance at a tender age and thrived on it.
Pilks can be game changer but I don't think we saw that in him last season.
He found it hard to get a game under CH then NA, there must be a reason.
Would love him to the player of 2 years ago and stay but the reality is he isn't.
Will be sad to see him go, but can understand why both the club and he have made this choice.

£3m would seem like a fairer deal considering he is in his last year of contract and bearing in mind his injury record from the last 3 years.
I'm still not happy at all that he is being sold, I would rather lose him on a free at the end of the year.

Just changing the subject quickly...is Jack Collison still a free agent? If so what would you guys think of trying to bring him in?

This is pretty much how I feel at the moment. I'm not anti-Adams, but this is truly a PR disaster for the club, selling an important player to a major competitor for promotion. Like DH, I'll wait until the window closes, but this is a time when the club should be communicating with its fans and it isn't.
I think city's season could well depend on the Murphys and Loza making the step up to the first team. A big gamble IMO.
I see this morning's evening news is reporting that Neil Adams has said he hopes "one or two" will be moving in the next week or so and that we've made enquiries.
Could mean anything, though...
