So all the rumours about Van Dijk and Vlaar have completely flew over your head? Or are you picking and choosing to suit your argument?
I know it's unlikely to ever happen (before August 31st anyhow), but Kagawa and Hernandez are available for a combined £25m. Now Atletico are interested, but there's no bid lodged. Why not chuck in a bid? Get the juices flowing a bit, show some ambition. Indicate to fans and other players that yes, we're up for this. You never know, we might even get them if it scared off other clubs.

It does concern me that we are linked with a lot of players in there later playing years.
We had / have a vibrant young team in the making, I know you need experience too but these links are for fairly big money and are gambles at best. Pay the money and invest , not buy for this season alone.

I have Zaha in the Redmond category of quick wingers who can't really play a ball, but Zaha has more tricks I guess. I've not been impressed with him at either Palace or Cardiff.
St George - no of course not, we are so short at CB I am desperate for Vlaar and Van Dijk to join us but all we are being linked with is more midfielders and a washed up Greek striker at the moment. We have one decent CB at the moment so getting pretty twitchy!
Exactly. It almost feels like we've been humbled a bit this summer (we have), but that we're bidding a bit apologetically for middling to average players. I'd like to see a bit of lairy fight going on. If we bid 25 for them, it may price Atletico out, or put off other teams.
There's only one way in which we can know for certain that they won't be coming here, and that's by not bidding.....
We've been linked to about 100 players, about half have been old in player terms. With the academy being as good as it is we will always have a core of young english players. We will need to add experience now and again.
I guess there is the hope that saints are the right fit for the Zaha and Redmond characters, and Koeman's rep with bringing through the youth will be the making of them. That's if it isn't just rumour based on nothing solid.
